![]() They can't, unlike other AAA-teams, bethesda softworks haven't got hundreds of developers, when they made fallout 4, they barely broke the 100-barrier. |

![]() Still didn’t finish FO4 even though I really was intrigued by the storyline. Problem was it was too samey all along. I just didn’t like the additions of base building and when you went out it was just repeat ad nausem of same missions over and over and over. That and I felt the respawn rate was a bit aggressive. I love when games especially RPG are not having massive respawns like Witcher 3. |

![]() i wish people would stop calling it the creation engine. witcher 3 wasnt called the witcherer because they updated the game with a patch. The creation engine is STILL just gamebyro. They just called it something new, when they patched it.

![]() I don't see why they can't call it whatever they feel like, gamebryo 4.0 ain't **** compared to their version of the engine. |

![]() No doubt renaming their engine to "creation engine" was a PR stunt to deflect all the deserved negative criticism they have been getting over the years. ('creation engine' still has 25 year old gamebryo bugs in it) That said, the other side of the coin is that modders have years of experience with it and can churn out quality content regularly without needing to learn new tools from scratch. While they definitely have been obviously putting in some work into gamebryo/creation-engine, the code must be multiple 'house of cards' on top other multiple 'house of cards' atm. Its probably reached the point where it might be better to cut their losses and license a true modern next-gen capable engine. Short term it doesn't matter though, they are guaranteed 15mil in one month sales off of reputation alone. "Bethesda RPG" is a phrase which carries serious clout, even in non-gaming circles.

![]() As someone who loved the heck out of Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Vegas, I certainly hope this comes out sooner. I mean heck, ESVI won't be released until 2026 earliest and by the time we get Fallout 5, I'd possibly be in my 50s by then. And that's being optimistic. |

Keeping an open mind

![]() Well if they keep sticking with the same engine, than turning out Content will be faster... but yeah... unless the spin up a side studio or farm it out this is like a decade out. Todd Howard might not even be around at the company by then, dude is already in his fifties.

![]() Everyone needs to just switch over the Unreal engine and be done with. It came a long way since Unreal 1 in 1998 and can basically do anything and everything and has the best developer tools from highest API level to down to the metal if needed. Puts every other engine to shame. Wished CD Project would have recognized this sooner after realizing the engine for Witcher 3 would need that much of an overhaul for CyberBug |

![]() half the old devs who have the experience with gamebyro are gone. the majority of devs working on fallout 76 and up (starfield etc), are new and had to learn gamebyro.

![]() no the opposite. it means all the time taken to learn the engine and how to work it, is taken away from learning a newer better engine, or even just the one the new devs already know.

![]() Duke Nukem Forever would have been good, if it was on the Gamebryo engine. |
