And I'm just disagreeing with you. It's more stable than CML ever was.

How many parity errors did you actually experience on your 10700 chip? How much "instability" did you run into with your Z490 platform? The only issues I have come from pushing the overclock too far. That's not a knock on the platform, it's just poor silicon. My chip is poop.

I don't ever remember you complaining about instability with your old setup, but because Falkentyne (who is a great guy) talked about memory access issues in very specific applications on CML, now all of a sudden your RKL platform is "far more stable" than your old CML setup.

Yeah.. no. I've read that post before as I'm very familiar with Falkentyne. Super knowledgeable dude who I've discussed OCs and bounced ideas with as we all try to figure out what the hell AC/DC Loadline does in relation to how it changes calculations of VID. With that being said, I've yet to see any issues in games causing parity errors; it was a fear that future games may cause it, not a guarantee. I believe Minecraft is the only game that is still very sensitive with causing Parity errors. Apex was an issue and was resolved before CML was even released, iirc.

I didn't say I had issues with either platform Nunz, you said Z590/RKL has heaps of problems which I disagreed with - because RKL specifically fixes known stability problems with CML.

Just because RKL fixed issues that CML had, doesn't mean it didn't introduce new ones. I'm going to leave it at that, let's move on.

FWIW, overall I am not sure I even recommend Ryzen 5000 series. In some ways it certainly is better tech than Intel's current processors, but overall QC seems to be lacking with AMD.

Seems to be a lot of little issues with latest fast protocols, there are issues with some HDMI 2.1 devices, PCI-E 4, latest chipsets, and even m.2 drives are hitting thermal limits. Intels 2.5gb lan has issues as well.

I think I made the right decision to stay with 300 series chipset and 9th gen intel for now, until newer stuff matures.

Sorry Nagorak, my joke fell flat, I was thinking of KAC.

I only got a few WHEA error because my chip is a pussy that is very sensitive to overclocks. Since I stopped raping that pussy I haven’t had a single WHEA error.

Finally got the 9900 from silicon lottery, doing some temperature tests now. Much to my surprise, most software did not even complain about activating. Windows didn't deactivate, office didn't deactivate.

Adobe Acrobat was the only thing that complained, their activation is intrusive and very annoying, they are doing the whole subscription model worse than anyone else.

Just ran Aida stability test for 10 minutes, temps are very low on air cooling. I am using a Micro ATX case (Sliger Cerberus) with only one 80mm Noctua intake fan, and one 92mm Noctua exhaust fan, and the CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-L12S.

Annoyingly, for the first time ever the fan on my power supply turned on. It is a "CORSAIR SF750 CP-9020186-NA 750W SFX 80 PLUS PLATINUM", and according to the manual the fan does not turn on unless the system is using 300W plus. The screen on my UPS was showing ~290W during the test. It was using a bit less power with the old i5, and it never triggered the fan. Nevertheless, I don't expect any real life applications to cause the system to draw so much power to trigger the fan.

I dont remember the temps on the old i5, but they were probably roughly the same.
