and Apple keeps sucking them dry more and more

hopefully Intel can steal enough tech from TSMC to fix their own fabs

From 6th december i have my 16gb memory kit in warranty so i borrowed 4gb from dads computer.I am not playing any heavy games anyway.
I want at least 3080 like performance with at least 12 gb ram at around 600 euro

To be fair, if you wait and it doesn't pan out, your not likely to be much worse off than now. Other than the resale of your current GPU maybe going down abit.

And nothing from nvidia either on next gen desktop. And Raja was nowhere to be seen on the intel showcase tho some gpus for laptops are incoming.

Guess the current gen is gonna be whats what this year. They will probably present the new stuff in the fall with availability next winter... plenty of time for you guys to enjoy your new gpus.

Time to get a 6600XT......would prefer a 6700XT at the price it goes for but dont see GPU prices dropping anytime soon......

Loving mine. Performance faster, some times allot faster, than a 1080Ti usually and at worst around the same. Only it has better RayTracing support n' performance, consumes less power, runs quieter and will have longer driver support.

*shrug*, I have been very pleasantly surprised and happy with it. But I manged to snag it around MSRP at release.

The best i can do right now is 600 bucks if and when it comes in stock at the local computer place. I told myself im never going to pay that much for a GPU again (I got the Radeon HD 5700 way back when and it was like 550 and although it was something i wanted and got, I felt i spent too much for a GPU) but with the way things are nowadays, we're paying a tier higher for cards that should be a tier lower....
I think the last reasonably priced GPU i could have had in the 300 dollar range was an already aging RX 580. I probably should have bought a 6600 XT when it first came out...i think it was like 450 dollars before the pricing spiked.

An RX 6600 XT is roughly equivalent performance to a RX 5700 XT and i'd be happy with that. Plus upgrading from an R9 290 should be a massive improvement lol.

Dont need the latest and greatest right now but would like to keep up to date. My Ryzen 5 2600X is still going strong and when its time to make a final push i can drop a Zen3 in my mobo as a final upgrade (assuming whenever that happens i can still find them available lol.....I had a phenom II 955 which i planned to last upgrade to a Phenom II X6 but by the time i was ready to get the upgrade, those CPU's were too expensive for what they were and Ryzen was well on its way towards Zen2)

Oh it's easily the worst price performance ratio I've ever bought. But it could have been much worse. And for the 2020's, that's about as good as it gets lol

Instead of using the chips for more 3080/3080 Tis the dirty ****ers at Nvidia decide to release this 3090Ti with probably $4k a pop price tag and 8 % perf increase over the 3090 instead of easing the shortages. Goes to show how much they give a ****. Greedy mofos.

I dont really want to but the way GPU pricing is nowadays...not much of a choice. The other options are to wait who knows how long....and/or maybe out of sheer dumb luck i can catch a 6700XT in stock at the AMD website store and get that for around $700.

But now:

A 6600 is like $550-600
6600XT is $600+
6700XT is like $900
6800 XT is like $1500
6900 XT is like $2000+

I got mine @ $519. That same GPU is now listed at $719 Canadian rubles. Honestly Sasquach, your in a the same spot I was back in August and things have only gotten worse

yup, the whole price/performance metric that used to be in play is just thrown out the window this generation (and possibly next as well), or until the pandemic is finally done and there's no more shortages.

There's about 20% difference in price between each model here. What's interesting is the 6900xt is half the price of 3090.. amazing.

I thought mining is AMD stuff and gaming is mostly NV. Thanks for clarification.
Nvidia has more budget than AMD only for GPU stuff.I am not sure how AMD Graphics subsidiary can compete with that.

AMD has been better at mining in the past but with the 6900 xt vs a 3090 it is all NV

If i want a gaming card only seems i have to search for AMD anyway.I found this rx6800 on ebay and is tempting.The MSPR of rx6800 is 579$.It's still 50% over MSRP at 950$.I may offset that cost with the vega selling.A brand new one is 1500$.
