I'd like to know if these are still manufactured on Samsung 8nm or if the Ti variants will be fab'd at TSMC on 7nm being a refresh and all.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Boasts 34 TFLOPS Of Graphics Horsepower And Matches RTX 3090 In CUDA Performance
Quote:
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be available soon and it looks like the RTX 3080 Ti is going to end up taking the proverbial flagship position from the RTX 3090 as the latter is delegated to a more ceremonial, TITAN-like, role. Benchmarks of the upcoming RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti GPUs leaked out at Geekbench (Geekbench via Benchleaks via Videocardz) and show performance on par with the RTX 3090. If you take an average of the available RTX 3090 results, the RTX 3080 Ti actually beats the RTX 3090 - which is almost certainly due to the slight variation in differing runs but still worth noting.

It's geekbench .. not even worth talking about.

Besides that, I don't see them releasing a 3090TI. Anyone who needs the additional vRAM can just buy a 3090.

Over the last several months it seems using Samsung was actually better for Nvidia. You could buy, with some patience, a 3080. A 6800XT was basically almost vaporware since release.

Throw Nvidia into the TSMC mix and now you have even less wafers to distribute globally with Apple hogging the majority of it up.

Maybe Samsung 8nm isn't the best but it's still a faster card (3080 vs 6800XT) with more features and better overall availability. With mining lockout now being implemented on newer cards, Nvidia will have removed one of the blocks for widespread consumer availability. And they will not have to be a slave or 2nd fiddle to TSMC's Apple loving logistics. Doesn't mean you can suddenly buy a 3080 or 3080ti on a whim, but chances are you'll be able to buy one of these over any AMD card.

sorry i don't buy that

AMD had the game consoles eating up most of their allotment and they made a sh*t ton of console APU's
then the CPU's that have been easer to get than the GPU's that seem to be in last place as always with AMD every time

now if NV had contracted their normal planed allotment and keep it they would have got it with most likely much better power usage and much better yields (more cards and faster at the start) but after bitcoin spiked spiked it wouldn't have mattered

and maybe better performance also

Pretty tough to debate that going 8nm was the wrong decision Bill, with Nvidia garnering record gaming revenue again.

so did AMD and TSMC

miners are buying up Intel & AMD CPU's and AMD GPU's also

Simple, look at how many here have a 3000 series vs a 6000 series. 3000 series cards are being bought on and off every two weeks. EVGA queue is moving, slowly, but it's moving.

what does the 6000 series have to do with NV and how many card they could have done on TSMC if they had stuck with their normal TSMC allotment and not let AMD have it and gone to much cheaper samsung
AMD has nothing to do with that .

...
AMD did
14 million + of the two game consoles they say then came 1+ million Ryzen 5000 CPUs the 6000's were last lowest priority with AMD

you think there were even 6 million 3000 series cards i don't

and do you really think if this was a normal AMD cycle and AMD was not doing the game consoles on the same TSMC node with a higher priority the 6800XT would still be basically almost vaporware ?
