Worth splurging now before the RAMpocalypse hits high gear?

Happy New years ragers (or whomever is still here). Got something to contemplate.
Would it be worth getting components now as opposed to later where the RAMpocalypse potentially makes everything overpriced down the line? RAM itself is already stupid priced so that one already got hit. Im talking about motherboards, CPU, HDD/SDD. Are those gonna see hikes? Heck is it worth even sticking with a last gen platform to try to save money (like AM4 or DDR4....although DDR4 doesnt seem to be that much less)? I even thought about 16gb vs 32gb (as a minimum these days, i think 16gb is still usable) or even 1 stick vs 2 (2 still better). Im in no rush to get these but i feel like the longer i wait the more expensive things are gonna get (no not to replace anything in my current build, just more pondering for my SFF build i want to put together)

I mean, it's worth snagging another 16Gb to goto 32Gb or another 32Gb to goto 64Gb if you can find it for the right price. But DDR4 is already going up. SSD's have already started to go through the roof as well. So If you find a decent price.... go for it while you can if all the specs are what you want.

Not sure it worth trying to gobble up AM4 stuff. 5800X3D's are already so rare that if you have one break not even AMD has replacements anymore :(

Yeah i think i may just jump on any and all opportunistic hardware as they become available. I keep going back and forth on it but i think it'll just do it. Except for RAM since those already spiked, dont think waiting is gonna change anything for that. the AI shenanigans seems to have slowed new product showcases for the consumer (Was hoping to see news of Strix Halo/Ryzen 9000g series desktop APU's at CES but it feels like thats not happening anytime soon....was hoping its reveal/release would drop the pricing on the 8000g series),
