Which phone to get?

I currently have an LG Nexus 5. All paid for, it will become a thing for my son to mash now. I can get any of the below phones for no cost, just a tab. So which is bettererer?
Of course I could get one of the newer shiny phones but $$$$$ and what's the point.

LG G5
Samsung Galaxy A5
Samsung J3
Moto G Play
Samsung Galaxy S7
Moto G Plus
LG X Power
LG K4 2017

Phones are nowhere close to being exciting like PCs so I don't keep up with hardware and all the nerdiness that comes with it. :lol:
 
G5 is the best. Samsung is crap, too much UI issues, bloaty programs, "user experience" junk, and junk battery life. plus, it only supports quickcharge 2.0,
no removable battery, expensive.
 
With the G5, you need the quick charge because the thing kills the battery if you use it for anything other than a paper weight. I have one, and while I love how it works (the Home screen implementation was annoying at first); it's a battery sucker.

Do you actually own an S7? My S7e has no UI issues, no storage/ram issues due to "bloat", and lasts for 2 days on a full charge.

Difference between QC 2.0 and 3.0 is negligible and you shouldn't be QCing anyhow unless you want to kill your battery's lifespan. Also, OP mentioned all those phone options were $0, so... :hmm:

I have had the s7 Edge and s7, no issues here. Must be user error...
 
HTC 10 is a beast, I love mine. I think it bests any of those, and if you don't like lg's or sammy's spin on Android, HTC almost bone stock Nougat is smooth and fast. And with the new U11 coming out, I would guess they would be dropping in price too...
 
I was.. in the market same as Leppy. I went through all his options, your guys' recommendations and read a zillion reviews on each. Considering my 400CAD limit I ordered a MOTO G4 Plus 4th edition because it has 98% of the features I use, stays updated (nougat is available now) and given high marks by 95% of reviewers (considering price).

What did you end up with Leppy?
