Upgrade time!

After almost 8 years I decided to replace my beloved 2015 VW GLI. As you already know, it's very low mileage (21K KM) and in mint condition with some nice upgrades, asked $18K for it and sold it immediately.

Yesterday I went to the local Audi dealership and gave the deposit for a 2023 Audi A5 40 TFSI Sportsback:

There are some minor upgrades I will be making such as Sport Pedals, Carbon fiber spoiler, Carbon Fiber mirror covers, etc

I'm happy with the purchase, the price was a bit more of my initial budget at $51K but the competition (BMW and Mercedes) was more expensive and less equipped. My wife approved so I was good to go :bleh:

Should get it this week, will post more pics then.

Dope. 51K is decent damage. However, Audi loses resale faster than a hooker loses her panties on Saturday night.

Resell values is not a problem for me, I plan to keep it for a long time

I looked at some other brands like BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Porsche and the A5 was the best value, cars are expensive here...

Great choice and a very clean looking ride. Congrats! Hope the colorchoice works out for you, i decided against white because it tends to look dirty no matter what.

Not as much as dark colors. Put a good ceramic wax on there once a year and every rain washes it off.

Black cars man. Worst to look clean like ever. Especially in the desert.

White cars always look clean in my country as sun is out and dust doesn’t settle on white car enough to make it look dirty.

I would take a white car over a dark color any day of the week.

Ya dark color cars here look dirty even when it rains... and it rains a lot here... cant keep them clean. Honestly the best color for "God will wash my car' is silver.

well, i had a red one, nice color, but you really have to take care of it, otherwise it will look like sh*t in no time. I also had a (metallic) blue one which was actually the cleanest looking so far. And i also had a silver one, and yes, that was the easiest one, as pax pointed out. Now i have a car in what they call "islandgrey pearl", well, most of the time it looks really clean, but pollen are a nightmare (i guess they are with all colors though). A friend had a white car and he hated it because you could literally see every lil sprinkle of dirt on it (at least he told me that). So yeah, if it works out for you, great. Didn't want to start a discussion about car colors

That greasy yellow pollen we get does cover all cars visibly tho. Thats usually when I break down and pull out the bucket and give her that big yearly hand wash and wax.

I selected white because I like the contrast with all the black details, and, as I have already mentioned on other threads, I refresh the ceramic coating once per year so it's always shinny. I used to wash my cars daily, now only once per week.

I picked it up last tuesday, so far I'm loving it, quite an improvement over my GLI. The quality of the materials and build is far superior.

Performance wise, I'm using it in dynamic mode and the consumption is on par with my GLI (if not better) due to all the fuel saving measures it has. I think it's just my impression, but the acceleration is more noticeable on this car than on my GLI, maybe due to the hybrid system?, who knows...

Sound quality from the Band & Olufsen system is simply awesome, best I've ever listened ever on a car.

Very nice looking car! I'm sure you'll have tons of fun with it.

Elegant for sure. Enjoy it for what it is.
Audi is nice but numb. I'm looking to rid of my RS7 soon to find a more drivers experience car.

I found a used RS7 for the same price I paid for the A5, however, it was too old for my taste and lacked some tech I wanted. it's a realy cool care nonetheless.
