That daily game progress thread...

Been working my way through Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I think I'm about 2/3rd through now.
Then have to decide on either Control, or Kingdom Come Deliverance as the next choice...

Played some of that new Dragon Age.

Not a fan of how some characters speak like they're straight out of a bad marvel movie, and others behave/speak "normally".

Only spent two hours in it so far, so I don't really know if stuff will improve or not, but so far it the game is a weak 7/10, maybe a 6.5/10.

Started playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein today on my MacBook Pro 14" using the Mac Source Port. First time playing it again since I first played it in 2001.

Veilguard kind of feels like fallout 3, it is set in the same world, but the new developer does not really respect the previous entries and takes many liberties with the lore, and the writing is way worse.

Except in this case, the developer is the same.

It is still a decent action-rpg that I think I'm going to finish, but it is a terrible dragon age sequel.

Finished Game of Fate, mystery FMV game with some romance. Wasn't too bad but also a bit jumbled and didn't come together quite as well as it could have. Fang Jin is still out of this world.

Prestige 1 Rank 48 in BLOPSIX, will take a break and wait for S1

Should have mentioned that I also installed Quake III: Arena using the Mac Source Port. Playing with a Magic Mouse (which some/most might find nearly impossible). Doing not too bad in online matches with others.

There are still people playing Q3A online??

Yes. Unless what I am playing against are bots. There are many servers available, so I am assuming people also play on them. Was playing yesterday against two people on an instagib map.

wow cool, 618 servers still going. I suppose most of these people are hosting themselves.

Finished A Quiet Place: The Road ahead - decent, very soft recommendtation but get it on sale
Finished Game of Fate - mystery FMV + dating game, also not bad but a bit jumbled

Yeah, it is pretty cool. Those 618 servers was just with the "Free For All" game type selected and empty servers hidden. If I enable all the games types and show all servers (full and empty), I get over 1,100 servers.

Played some more of that veilguard, it grows on you once you accept that you are playing fantasy mass effect mixed with god of war.

It is still pretty crazy that this is what the spiritual successor of BG ended up like.

Just completed Return to Castle Wolfenstein on my MacBook Pro 14" using the Mac Source Port. Great game and it ran perfectly. First game I've played on my Mac.

Smashing through Wagon Age Veilguard. Having a pretty great time with it and like all of the companions, so far. Couple of little annoyances but overall very solid.

Needed a change of pace, so decided to bust open an Epic freebie and give Suicide Squad a shot. You know what, I'm enjoying it a lot. Haven't done any multiplayer (and probably won't) but the campaign is a lot better than I'd been led to believe.

Man Blops6 mp is addictive. Finding myself diving back in for more games and staying for 2 hours. I also want to play more zombies coz that is fun too. Still doing wagon age and having a good time.

Finished Mass Effect: Veilguard.

7/10, better than Andromeda but the writing is all over the place.

I guess some of the quality issues can be explained by how they had to transform the thing from a destiny-like to a single player action game.

Just started Jedi Survivor. Looks cool, plays nicely, feels smooth. So far, so good.

My EA pass runs out in two weeks, so I'd best get a move on.
Still working on Jedi Survivor. Haven't gotten a move on so I have prolonged the EA pass for another month.

I had put the difficulty setting on Story Mode, which makes Cal essentially invulnerable and all your enemies rather weak. However, I noticed the combat became boring: enemies didn't put up any fight, died in the blink of an eye, and battles were over before they got going. That was a mistake - I prefer the Easy setting where you can get hurt, and battles take some time.

The story is in about as little a hurry as I have been though: I think I may prefer games that have a sense of urgency straight off the bat. Last but not least, it's funny to notice the mid-game tutorials for new features, when I was also watching the Half-Life 2 documentary where tutorials are so well-implemented in the game you don't even notice them. Twenty years on, lots of developers still just wing it when it comes to smooth gameplay and level design.
