STALKER 2

If the atmosphere is there and they create a slow burn story with interesting environmental progression towards the center of the zone I will be happy. They need to keep armor damage and weapon damage a possibility in the game engine and all will be well.

I play Misery, Anomaly and dead air mods for stalker and I know the game will not be that hardcore of a survival experience. I just want GSC to get the Gameworld and story progression right and then give the mod community the tools to fix the rest of the game for people like me who like extreme challenge and survival horror elements. I'm just glad Microsoft didn't pay them a huge bag of cash to release on Xbox only like they did with halo and many other game series over the years. GSC still runs the studio so it's not like Obsidian's Pillars of Eternity where the developer has been bought out and given mainstream console instructions to make the next oblivion ect. I still have hope for Stalker.

Think it might be time to replay all the Stalker games, just gotta find the best graphical mods to go with them. I know there are mods that changes the gameplay completely but don't want that.

I would suggest autumn aurora if you want graphics upgrades without a heavy shift from the original game. That is for the original stalker game, call of Chernobyl.

Anomaly combines all 3 game worlds into one large world but it has it's own storyline and it has a lot of survival mechanics. Still, the graphics look amazing once you apply some model upgrades to the character models and the difficulty is highly customizable. I would recommend giving it a shot if you are bored and you have run through the original games again. Do a google search for the HD model packs and you will be surprised how well the game holds up with all of the modified assets from AA2, Anomaly, ect.

Lot more detail but it's scripted and a tiny area so probably not reflective of what we'll get.

The original stalker was delayed many times and this one is being released multi platform so I'm not holding my breath for a 2021 release either. They haven't shown much which makes me think it's still got a ways to go. I'm still amped for it though. Stalker is one of my old favorites that I still play regularly with mods.

Most of the team moved on and worked on games like Metro which aren't known for the repeated mismanagement that stalker had. I had heard most of the problems stem from GSC game world and Sergiy Grygorovych who is still developing and managing stalker 2. I hope they can pull it off but I'm not holding my breath.:p

I doubt they would cancel now that they got all that extra console cash in the pipeline. Most stalker fans are worried that they will sell out but I don't think so. I think that's why Microsoft doesn't own stalker like everything else. Dude is stubborn and that is why it had so many problems but also why it's so good.

If they make another game like the original stalker, expect hardcore gameplay and incredible atmosphere with lots of bugs just like Cyberpunk 2077. If you see alot of hype followed by big sales and then an army of normies crying waves of tears, you will know they have succeeded in making another PC legend. I suspect IO interactive will do something similar at the end of the month as well. Here is to hoping.

This isn't stalker 2 related but the Stalker Anomaly mod 1.5.1 is finished. It's very stable and is pretty much an unofficial stalker 2 that is free and doesn't require that you own the previous games. I don't use the aggressor addon but this video shows a combination of addon's that most users are using with anomaly to transform it into something more modern. The youtube video has links to most of the addon's that I'm using minus the aggressor mod because I prefer a more dark and creepy looking zone.
