Salt And Sacrifice

waiting to play this co-op with the partner, we enjoyed the first game quite a bit, which surprised me cause they are a massive graphics whore.
 
Yeah I watched the preview LobosJr did couple months back with the developers.

I like the nod to Sekiro with the addition of a grappling hook. Should allow for better more interesting moving around through the environments.
 
Also the first one Salt and Sanctuary is free today only on EPIC.

Anyone else playing this? I’m only about an hour in and still trying to figure it all out. I’m sure I’ll get it, but I miss the simplicity of the first game already. There’s a lot more going on at the start, but still…solid experience so far :up:
 
I’m enjoying it so far, but not as much as the first one. The skill tree is just a mess in this. I much preferred the old one.
 
Ok, have to say it. Buyer beware. This isn’t more of the same Salt and Sanctuary goodness. I’m not having fun at all.

Hub and 5 worlds - big open maps with shortcuts are gone.
No parry. It’s gone.
Can only equip a shield if your weapon came with one.
You have save points to respawn from, but from the hub you can only go to the very start of each world.
The skill tree, weapons upgrades, everything is just convoluted and messy.

I doubt I’ll finish it.

Yes, Ska had 3 other devs under the first game, and just 1 different dev with him on this one, according to google anyway.

Others might really enjoy it, but everything I loved about the first one, the simplicity, the world and how to get to and through it, it’s all changed.

I have about 3.5-4 hours in and so far it’s just 85% grind, no real fun.
 
Bummer. I'm going to have to look at some gameplay videos to see what's going on.
I think FightinCowboy has a playthrough on YouTube.

So I guess you really do "sacrifice" a lot with this one. ;)
 
that video is a bit much. Most of the video is just him failing. There are definitely a couple things in the video that show a bad design though. Not sure about the bosses one though, the footage he shows of a boss is directly counter to what he says in the video. I dont think its a good video, positive or negative for the game.

Anyone found any better ones?
