Radeon RX 9070/XT (RDNA4)

I think they restock only once a week in most places so we'll see how the next stock goes... but the premium prices are as much as almost 400$ CAD over MSRP so kinda crazy for that 5% and RGB or so boost...

That link where I mentioned overclocking showed you could take the base to xt levels with a non extreme overclock. That may be the reason there isn't much of a price difference.

I think the xt oc's well too... seen a few @ 3.4 ghz with up to -80mv undervolt and max power setting but thats users so could be silicon lottery.

er8auer tested with the PowerColor RX 9070 XT Red Devil, which sits near the pinnacle of RX 9070 XT factory-overclocked models.
...
Der8auer found the best results through increasing the GPU's power target to 110%, and then applying a GPU voltage offset of -170mV, allowing the RX 9070 XT to hit 3.36 GHz and see a 10% boost in FPS over a similar XTX-brand RX 9070 XT.
...
Remember that both YouTubers tested with cards heavily overclocked from the factory, and (normally) selling for well above MSRP. The PowerColor Red Devil initially sold for $799 on Newegg, $200 above MSRP for the RX 9070 XT at launch. Likewise, the ASRock Steel Legend board was listed at $640, a cool $90 above MSRP for the RX 9070. With these markups comes better PCBs and much-improved cooling, which may be the silver bullet allowing for such aggressive undervolts to remain stable."

I wonder how hard it is to solder that one cap... I get the feeling this thing will be unobtanium for some time.

I don't know about that, the XTs seems to be restocked fairly regularly, especially the overbuilt higher priced ones.

Theres none at msrp in canuckia for now... and the pricier ones are never in stock up here online tho I see a few non xt's advertised available in store. It might clear up in a few weeks.

Probably a combo of both the retailers and the manufactures responding to the demand. Very little AMD can do about that, its just how markets work. Eventually I hope it calms down as they keep cranking out cards and maybe we will see the market cool off. But I also do not really expect that for a long while or till the next generation.

Im curious on their production rate. We know the RTX5000's are a bit low but is AMD also so focused on AI chips that it hampers production of gaming chips I wonder... If I can grab an msrp one by the fall its ok but if not and they put out FSR4 for the 7000's that works well enough it might just be enough for me to wait til first gen UDNA tho looks like its late 2026 at least...

Remember that AMD was down to 10% market share with Radeon 7000, so they wouldn't have been ordering chips with the expectation of supplying the entire market. Maybe they can ramp up to supply more of the market, but it will take time and they're still going to be reluctant to go "all in" in case Nvidia comes through with supply.

We are seeing some supply available now but inflated prices so its more having enough to bring some prices back to msrp... If they aim for 40% of the market as Jack Huynh said the mid range will need some good volumes.

Just a suggestion for everyone...

This little evolution of the old DLSS2FSR tool will allow you get FSR4 into DLSS 2/3/4, XeSS aaaand FSR 2.x/3.0 titles. Along with allowing for things like over-riding Scaling Ratios, Forcing Mip-Map LOD bias, Convert Frame Gen methods, Convert Reflex to Anti-Lag 2 and a couple other hand tricks.

If your having issue using it in a game do read the "known issues" section. Often handy if it's "working" but glitchy.
