Yeah, our Canadian rupees only go so far

Oh man I really hope AMD doesnt get into that hype scalping game like Nvidia... I have only so many canadian pesos.
I dont know what in gods name to compare the cards to now......plus it seems somewhat underwhelming. 9070/XT apparently is equivalent to a 4070? Is that good or bad? i cant tell....their dumb naming change is already confusing me.Another tid bit doing the rounds is that 9070 is so fast it was really an 80 class gpu... apparently AMD is playing the reverse of classifying an 80 class gpu as a 70 class whereas Nvidia classes its 70 class gpus as 80's. I just hope the price fits the 70 class as I think anything above 500$ is hard to swallow as a 70 class.

Despite Frank Azor's Dismissal, Whispers of a 32 GB Radeon RX 9070 XTX Resurface
Recent rumors hinted at a 32 GB variant of the Radeon RX 9070 XT being in the works, which were quickly dismissed as false information by AMD's Frank Azor. However, reliable sources seem to point to the contrary, stating that a 32 GB variant of the RX 9070 XT, likely dubbed the RX 9070 XTX, is...www.techpowerup.com
The early tests show the card is close to the 7900xtx or a smidge under a 5080... they did a Furmark test today.I dont know what in gods name to compare the cards to now......plus it seems somewhat underwhelming. 9070/XT apparently is equivalent to a 4070? Is that good or bad? i cant tell....their dumb naming change is already confusing me.
I dont understand AMD's logic for changing the names like this...they had an established hierarchy and now they want to trick the nvidia users into accidentally choosing their wares?Ya thats hard to tell theres no info at all on the lower tiers other than the 70 class. Maybe they will make the old 700 class the new 60 with a huge uplift. If they can uplift 50-60% of the 9070xt over the 7800xt maybe you can expect the same in the 60 series over the the 7700xt... But prices are up too as it looks like the 9070xt will be 50$ to 150$ over the 7800xt MSRP.
Huge leak. If true could be worth it for 7000 gen owners:

Dont want to nitpick here too much but really wanted to try FSR4 performance upscaling on Cyberpunk 2077... >>> pathtracing shenanigans for fun.
Lets just hope sub 700$ price point doesnt mean 699$. I didnt think 499$ for the 9070xt was gonna be true at this perf level.
Cant help but wonder if they intended to price it at 499$ if they had launched first tho...
