Radeon RX 9070/XT (RDNA4)

I think they might try to use the 9070 as the XT and later the full die as the XTX if it performs as rumored very close to a 5080. Prices look to be more 599$ for the XT at this point than the 499$ that was bandied about earlier. I think they have to match the DLSS4 tho to approximate prices with Nvidia with performance upscaling being by far imo the top feature. Frame Gen much less so and even native rendering falling to second place in importance for the first time ever. If we can upscale on the lowest performance setting it will be a massive perf improvement going forward.

Rumour is March 6th for the release date.

Saw one rumor that said the 9700 non xt would still be the full die but lower clocks and probably lesser cooling... If they can put a dual 8 pin for such a lower model it could be a grand bargain for modders.

Thats much faster than the 4080 it seems at first glance but we'll see there could be settings we dont know about in there... could it be frame gen? Tho they say it doesnt improve the score vs the fps. Seems frame gen reduces the score the 4080 is beat by a 7800xt in the score but not the fps.

I think AMD might have over-estimated how fast the 5000 series under the 5090 was going to be.

Ah dang well Im sure it wont pull nearly as much juice as the Nividia high end so doubt any melting issues will be had here. Hope to see the NDA lift or presentation next week on the 20th per rumor...

Oh ok I think I mixed it up with the 5070 on the 20th.

Daniel Owen says the 9070xt score seems to match roughly a made by amd stock 7900 XTX in that game:

- 64 Compute units confirmed for 9070XT
- 900W recommended for PowerColor RedDevil edition of the 9070XT
*Note, the RedDevil is a OC'ed card, not the regular spec'ed card*

Frank Azor confirms that there will be plenty of 9070XT cards with lower power requirements than the RedDevil from Powercolor.

Ya thats gotta be for show I cant see it needing 3 8 pins...

375w with the pcie slot seems high for a mid range. We'll have to wait for the oc results on the 2 8 pin models see how that plays out.
