I too would prefer a universal standard but atm the problem is, you're effectively locked into a vendor with either freesync or gsync. Given that's the current reality I'd choose gsync.

Also, HBAO, which I thought for some reason was a universal setting/option regardless of vendor. Nice to learn something new.

There's an option in Nvidia control panel that allows you to force it in any game.

There is a very good chance that intel and NVidia will both end up supporting Adaptive Sync. The big names in displays (LG and Samsung) are already on board. There is zero chance that intel or AMD will have GSync, unless intel buys NVidia. Being alone in supporting an industry standard, doesn't make a feature "effectively" vendor locked.

I don't see any reason to buy a proprietary and vendor-GPU locked system over the Displayport standard. None of the NVidia exclusive features can make up for this absence of Adaptive Sync support, from my perspective.

It is effectively vendor locked if you use a dgpu, your only option for freesync is AMD.
