Nintendo Switch 2

See, that's the thing. I was sure to get this as I skipped Switch 1. I could have walked into a store and gotten a Switch 2 today in the city. Felt like a kid again! Actually did. Job's been shit, and this felt like fresh air. I hesitated somehow.

This time there's just too much of what feels like some of the worst end user company hostility I've seen in a while. Leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Need to watch more videos and read more before jumping ahead...

Mario Kart is pretty neat, but IMO not good enough to be the sole nintendo game available at launch.

The fact that the open world stuff isn't a forza horizon clone just feels like a missed opportunity, they could have made a game that would last for the entire generation if they just had copied someone else's homework instead of being stubborn and doing a nintendo.

I wish I had picked up a pro controller as they are now out of stock everywhere, as the joycons are still not that comfortable.

I'd recommend waiting for another revision of the switch 2 if you want to do a lot of handheld retro/sidescrolling gaming on the switch 2, this screen is way to slow for that, it's not as bad as the black smear on bad VA-panels, but it just does not look or feel good.

It's "fine" for modern games though, not good, just "fine".

Wifey gifted me this bad boy for my birthday so im ready to jump ship. It was inevitable i was gonna get one but not this soon lol. The only real "graphical" game i have is the updated Hogwarts and it looks good. kinda crazy what 20watts of maximum power out of wii-u controller can output. The magnetic lock mechanisms are great. Theres no tabs to hold anything in place, those magnets do a helluva good job keeping it tight. The release button is just a push-pin. I think they should have made the pin a bit more centered or did something to push on both ends of the joycon. As its designed it releases at an angle and makes it feel harder to remove than it should. Gripping it and pulling it straight out the side its super easy, but at an angle it feels like its tighter than it is. The mouse mode works quite good (althought its not particularly comfy to hold the joycons that way), Since im a mouse/keyboard FPS player im gonna enjoy playing games with an FPS mode in such a manner. I liked using the wiimotes as a pointer more than the analog sticks.
