My POS LG G4

Well, after a full 14 months, my G4 crapped out last night. Stuck in what appears (after research) to be the infamous bootloop. Factory reset has failed twice, now it won't even boot into recovery mode, period.

Guess I'll see what the bozos (and they really are) at the local ATT store have to say... I'm not paying to have this thing fixed and the Samsung S8 gives me sticker shock. (Also didn't like my last samsung phone, an S5).

Guess I should have known better after getting my G2 replaced one and repaired twice more.

My wife had the same problem, got it warranty replaced. I'm not exactly sure how far into ownership she was though. It is a POS phone.

Try contacting LG, they are being sued for the bootloop issues. It was a known issue when I worked for them and they ignored it.

"Philip" (lmao) with LG just emailed me a prepaid shipping label and said it would be back within two weeks of my shipping. Said they could do a one week turnaound for 30 bucks.

I suppose I'm satisfied. I guess I could have spent a little time, raised some hell and maybe gotten the one week for free, but having spent the morning letting my mistrust in LG come back, and subsequently looking at the S8+ reviews....I think the G4 is about to become my backup phone anyway.

EDIT: i didn't bother with the att store, they have a kiosk in the local walmart but the nearest actual store in 45 minutes away.

I love my LG G4, it's been a stunning little phone (man the camera rocks). But this very issue has me concerned.

my v10 hit bootloop a few months ago. Had veriozn insurance they next day shipped me my new phone at no charge not even warranty deductible.

Yeah, my G4 died about a month ago from the boot-loop. I was lucky that I had the boot-loop one night and it resolved itself temporarily. It gave me the chance to back up what I wanted off of it. It boot-looped for good two days later, though. Since I couldn't be without a phone long enough for the warranty, I bought a Pixel, but I am probably going to RMA the G4 as I really liked the phone and it'd nice to have a good spare as the only spare I had was my old Droid X.

Looking into it, there were a lot of people complaining of the boot-loop within the last few months.

I had it and i loved it when it worked. I had to replace the main board on it after about 7months and then after getting it back the camera stopped working and had that RMA'd as well. After those 2 initial issues the phone ran great until recently (2yrs later)... no matter what i did the battery(s) (had a few spares) was dying about 4/5hrs into the day. The phone just heats up and chews through power. Id unplug it at 8am and the phone would be under 20% by lunch... thats with it doing nothing other than sitting in my pocket. Even tho Ive replaced it (G6) it still runs awesome... smooth and feels great in my hands. Im assuming its hardware related as ive done multiple resets and tested it with minimal apps.
