"Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is coming to PC on May 16. It contains the full game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode. Thanks to cross-play support, Legends players on Windows PCs can team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and use in-game voice chat to communicate. You will be required to sign into your PlayStation Network account to access Legends mode." (full article)

It looks like Ghost of Sashimi and probably all future Playstation ports are going to be unavailable in a bunch of countries thanks to Sony and their shitty PSN-infrastructure.

If you live in a region/country where PSN isn't officially supported, no games for you.

I agree, that sucks. Won't affect me, but it's still kinda amateur hour from Sony. I assume they'll be working on fixing that though.

Going forward, a PSN account will be required to play PS games on PC, even single player games. The 170 or so countries which don't have PSN support will not be able to purchase the games on Steam, instead being met with a "this game is not supported in your region" message, (again even for single player titles).

"This was further confirmed at the start of the State of Play presentation, with a statement reading: “Sony Interactive Entertainment games for PC require an account for PlayStation Network.” (article)

Official PC announcement trailer (age restricted)

Rumor is that Demon's Souls and Gran Turismo 7 are coming later this year.

They don't want to spend the money to get it up and running in countries where they don't officially sell their hardware.

Sony still cares more about their console business than selling games on pc.

"The ESRB has leaked information about a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for PC and PS5. However, it remains to be seen what improvements this remastered edition will bring."

This has been known for awhile but now is officially being reported on.

Lots on Steam are complaining that they need to create a PSN account for these new ports. I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it.

Days Gone PS5 Remaster (rumor)
A Days Gone PS5 Remaster Is Reportedly On Its Way, To Be Announced At The September 2024 State Of Play
a52zT3l.jpeg

"
A Days Gone Remaster for PS5 is reportedly set to be announced during the coming September 2024 State Of Play.

This comes from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, who confirmed that a Days Gone Remaster is indeed the “even less exciting” remaster he hinted at earlier in the week that’s planned for PlayStation’s still unannounced showcase, which Grubb previously claimed is set for September 24, 2024." (article)

That would be awesome, but weird at the same time. As I seem to remember that Sony considered the game a failure and refused to let them do a sequel. It also wasn't a critical darling either. But players seem to really like it.

Still looks graphically awesome today, but sure... why not.

Now official, Oct 31st

"
Each year, many millions more pick up Horizon Zero Dawn for the first time. But 7 years is a long time in the world of computer graphics; technology improves. As time moved on, we really wished that new players who join Aloy on her origin story can do it with a version that is worthy of their PS5 or compatible PC. And so, we are thrilled to announce that the game has been remastered by our talented friends at Nixxes.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered launches on October 31." (source)

I guess that is cool and all, but honestly, the OG game could kind of already pass as an early gen PS5 title when it's running maxed out at a high resolution.

I was really surprised just how well the visuals held up when I finished it last month.
