"Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is coming to PC on May 16. It contains the full game, the Iki Island expansion, and the cooperative online multiplayer Legends mode. Thanks to cross-play support, Legends players on Windows PCs can team up with players on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles and use in-game voice chat to communicate. You will be required to sign into your PlayStation Network account to access Legends mode." (full article)

It looks like Ghost of Sashimi and probably all future Playstation ports are going to be unavailable in a bunch of countries thanks to Sony and their shitty PSN-infrastructure.

If you live in a region/country where PSN isn't officially supported, no games for you.

I agree, that sucks. Won't affect me, but it's still kinda amateur hour from Sony. I assume they'll be working on fixing that though.

Going forward, a PSN account will be required to play PS games on PC, even single player games. The 170 or so countries which don't have PSN support will not be able to purchase the games on Steam, instead being met with a "this game is not supported in your region" message, (again even for single player titles).

"This was further confirmed at the start of the State of Play presentation, with a statement reading: “Sony Interactive Entertainment games for PC require an account for PlayStation Network.” (article)

Official PC announcement trailer (age restricted)

Rumor is that Demon's Souls and Gran Turismo 7 are coming later this year.

What's keeping Sony from getting PSN up and running in those 170 territories?

They don't want to spend the money to get it up and running in countries where they don't officially sell their hardware.

Sony still cares more about their console business than selling games on pc.
