Try to disable MPO(Multiplane Overlay)
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...ay-mpo.289163/

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]
"OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005

The lack of this key means its enabled

One Click reg file (mpo_disable.reg) is here

Just got hit with this issue that seems to be pretty pervasive. MPO regedit seems to have fixed it but time will tell... been having random black screens last couple weeks after playing around with new browsers due to Chrome being so memory intensive, needing a cold boot sometimes multiple to get at a diagnostics screen.

I ran the regedit dl tho you can do it manually. Apparently this started last spring around may....Not sure why this hasnt been fixed yet. Anyone else have this issue? Seems to affect all gpus/hw combos so its not vendor specific.

Downside of the fix is you might have to redo it every time theres a gpu driver or MS update... So ya MS might have royally screwed up here and has yet to put up a fix.

Crashes have stopped for now... seemed to run every few mins running desktop now its been 2 hours since disabling all power saving, disabling hardware acceleration in browsers and MPO via that regedit tool.
