I ask because with the 14.7RC3, 14.9 WHQL, & 14.9.1b Cats, installed into the Win10TP build 9841, some weird stuff is happening that I'm trying to pin down...
For some mysterious reason, even when I'm just web browsing (hardware accel turned on or off in the browser makes no difference) with FF 32.0.3, my single HD 7850 2GB likes to suddenly power up to full and stay there, registering a 92% GPU load until I reboot and 300/150 is restored. I have Auto-Crossfire disabled in the registry, Enable ULPS turned on...but this happens repeatedly and consistently. No other problems, however, with game compatibility and performance--which is excellent.
I wanted to see if anyone else had seen this as it did not happen under 8.1. Just checked and it's ratcheted up 92% load while I have been typing this message...any suggestions appreciated...

Edit#2: discovered that simply logging out and logging right back in resets the ULPS mode--actual reboot not required...that *ought* to tell me something, but...I swear, old age is a b*tch...
Edit#3: Solution (I may be more ancient than Stonehenge, but I'm still cookin' with gas on some levels...) And of course naturally it would be the last thing I tried and not the first...!
After doing everything else possible, at last I decided to turn off the AMD FUEL Service and at this very moment it appears to have completely solved the problem! Evidently Windows 10 TP doesn't agree with the AMD FUEL Service...so for anyone running Win10TP & a version of the Catalysts my advice has got to be to turn off the AMD FUEL Service. Since I don't use hotkeys I have also turned off the AMD External Events Utility service, as well...might as well free up those resources, too! (Ignore Edit#3 above, see Edit#4)
Edit#4: This one fooled me good. There is nothing wrong with the AMD FUEL service in Windows 10. Here is what I had:

Look out for it, it's a sneaky one!
