The only reason I play at all is to play online with a few friends.

The super terrible network code and hacks ruin it half the time

As the mod creator, you choose which portion of the game you want it to change. There probably are some mods that change multiplayer, and for all intents and purposes they would be cheats. The majority of the creative mods though are all single player.
 
I only ever modded two things in GTA5, the shonky handling of the cars (made them more like GTA4) and the "strength" of the cars to make them explode/breakdown after like 7-8 big impacts rather than about 50 from the vanilla game.

lol, i love that you modded in one of the great features of iv, but also modded out one of the best feature improvements iv made :p
 
I'm sure this has been asked 100 times in this thread, but what are the best visual mods? I've got a new PC and am ready to see this bad boy in all its visual glory.
 
I installed that mod, still trying it out. Ran into issues installing the vegetation mod, if you run into problems installing that bit I can explain wtf it is doing to some degree. Pain in the ass.
 
What'd you install LA Vegetation and the texture overhaul pack? Is it worth it?


Also, what optional do you recommend on VisualV? The shadow mods sound interesting, but there aren't any comparisons.

I can't really recommend anything as I can't compare these with one another. It's my first attempt and I'll probably just stick with what I have.

I have installed the following:

Natural Vision
Reshade and ENB
Texture overhaul pack
brighter emergency lights
Precise Thunder Bolts
L.A roads + L.A roads Patch
L.A Vegetation then L.A Vegetation 2.1 update files
Grass improvements no more dithering
Real California Architecture

It's really amazing how good this game looks, especially considering the scale, level of detail and the amount of things happening at once.
