GPU Prices Changes are Coming...

GPU prices are ridiculous right now but I'm kicking myself because I could have got a 6600xt for $100 less a few weeks ago...

was thinking more

The foundry prices are moot right now. A few percent increase in costs there is irrelevant when MSRPs are already inflated by 100%.
What MSRP? Can you find MSRP for AMD 6000 series cards from AIBs? If you can I'd love to see the link. Honest question.

The existing margins may absorb the cost increase from the foundry or they may pass it on. Kind of unpredictable at this point. I guess we'll see.
I also believe PC gaming will flat-out die if prices do not come back down to much lower levels. There aren't enough people who can buy $1500+ GPUs to support the gaming industry.
Well we don't really know how many of those people there are or how many of them are actually needed. This is also an unknown. Some of the people who refuse to spend more than 600-800 on a high end gpu might pick up a low to mid range option (6600/6700xt for ex) and be OK with that and just stick with 1440p. Who knows, I could be wrong, but we're both basically speculating at this point.
We can coast along for a few years based on people having previous gen cards that still work, but eventually we get to the point where the old hardware starts breaking and getting retired.
Let us both hope that you're wrong. The situation isn't good that seems beyond debate at this point but whether it is quite as dire as some are painting remains to be seen.

It must implode at some point.I may to move on until then.In my country second hand market i found a 2080ti sealed for 800$ this week. For the past months there was no used 2080ti less than 1100$.I am more interest in the new gen gpu's.

..."free service"... :D

Just might try and sell off the 2080Ti while still worth something....missing HDMI 2.1 output for the CX...

Can't speak to your country. In the states, a 6700xt can be had for around $800. I can buy a sapphire pulse for $820 right now and would take that over a 2080 any day.

Some people can and will. Some, will not.

Try to wrap your head around the amount of money spent on diamonds or wedding dresses. People most definitely drop a lot of coin for "pretty" things. One could argue $2000 on a GPU is better spent than on a wedding dress any day and yet they still sell a lot of stupid expensive wedding dresses and blinged out diamond rings to go with.

A wedding dress, or trip to exotic location X, is a once-in-a-lifetime splurge. GPUs are an every few years thing. Paying stupid money once for the memory is different from getting raked over the coals repeatedly.

Wedding dresses are a once in a lifetime splurge? LOL have you seen divorce rates?

People generally don't just take a single vacation either...

But yes maybe not every few years for those items though even an overpriced $1200 GPU is cheaper than what people pay "one time" on a wedding dress or a vacation.
