Doom The Dark Ages

Played three missions, not sure what to think of the game, I guess it is alright, but as with eternal, I'm not a fan of all the gimmicky shit that they've introduced, all I wanted was a sequel to doom 2016.

Can't say that I'm a huge fan of the story or the setting, it just feels stupid and kind of juvenile, Eternal and this game feels like the Diablo 3 of the doom franchise.

Oh well, I'm willing to give it another shot since I'm renting it on Game Pass, maybe the gameplay will be fun enough to overlook all the shit that annoys me as you unlock more weapons/abilities.

Also, this has nothing to do with the actual game, MS really needs to fix their regional pricing, Doom on steam costs more than PS5/XB disc version over here, a transferable license should not be cheaper than the digital version.

BOOOOOH @MS
Pretty much. They got everything right in 2016, and then somehow made two follow up games that were way worse and had game stopping cutscenes shoved in. The parry thing was still a horrible addition in eternal and here it's just so cartoony it takes me out of the experience.

Oh, I missed this response. Lumen has an entire NV branch for path tracing. Epic hasn't released their path tracing yet. Black Myth Wukong's advanced graphics are all based on the Nvidia fork.

Yea nVidia paid to create their own forked version of UE.

Welp, finished it, and... alright i guess. I started playing original 2016 doom right after and holy crap it's so much better it's not even funny.

It's funny, I keep meaning to came back to this and finish it... its not a long game after all and... nope. I end up playing just about anything else. It just hasn't hooked me enough. I'll finish it eventually, but something about it just doesn't vibe for me.

As an example, I re-installed and started playing Starwars Battlefront 2 (2017) instead of this randomly a couple days ago

To be fair it’s great to play bf2 now that it’s getting a lot of people playing again!

Game was a bit of a grind. The combat def has decent flow and the Cycler is very nice. Of the new trilogy, I preferred 2016, but Bark Ages is not horrible
