Dodge Is Cancelling The Hellcat

It's true though. The amount of weight the Hellcat carries is pretty significant compared to a proper stripped down caged drag car.

You can say the same about any 100% modified, stripped down chassis car built specifically to do one thing only. But, in the real world, it actually is just a normal production car for folks who like to drag race. It doesn't need to be an ultra stripped down, modified chassis to be called such a thing. That's just haters hating. :p

Agreed. The hellcat is and will always be one of the most affordable ways to buy a 700+ HP car. Haters gonna hate...

Yeah, he had a Hellcat Charger I think. Then sold it and got a new Mustang GT he was making fast.

Calling the Hellcat garbage is a bit silly. It's awesome that Dodge created the Hellcat lineup. Who cares if it couldn't turn well. That wasn't the point of the car. It made no excuses for what it was. My brother hates them too, always saying the argument he makes is that it's fine in a straight line until the first turn comes up. Well, it's a drag car. It's for people who like muscle cars and want to drag race. :p

I don't even have the Mustang GT anymore. Traded that in for my wife's new car, a Mazda CX-5.

My plan was to get a new performance car, but the used car market took a steep incline. Used cars are worth more than new cars which is absurd. New cars are suffering chip shortages and thus have huge markups on their own.

So basically I'm waiting this market out until it gets sane again. When that happens I'll probably get an electric vehicle. For drag racing even a model 3 performance is putting ICE cars to shame but I'm going to get some variant of the Model S when the time comes, which hopefully will be Summer 2022.

Woohoo! Electric boogaloo!

Hell yeah it is. Everyone else, "You need a turbo 4 cyl or 6cyl. Dodge, "You really want a big ass v8 with a super charger"! Fast is cool, but the sound those things make is a huge part of the experience IMO. I'm going to miss it once we're zipping around in EVs that are silent.

Was at the Dodge dealer yesterday getting my gf's Charger serviced and someone pulled a new Redeye out front and just listening to that thing idle gave me a boner. They are the best sounding sedans, ever.

Redeye is 787HP with a 305 section tire and a factory warranty, that's amazing.

Aren't all the Hellcats and Redeyes equipped with the AC cooling the intake charge, line lock, suspension launch adjustments, and trans brake stuff too for drag racing? I know the Demon had it for sure, and my buddies Challenger 1320 Edition has it all as well.
