Death Stranding

Damn. I hate respawning enemies.

Will keep playing for now.

You only knock them out with your judo chops. Eventually they do regain consciousness. They stay out for pretty long. Although I did kill a whole camp once to see if they still come back. And they did. Different mules I assume since I incinerated the bodies of the last crew.

Here is the closest you get to sex in this game:

Judo chopped 20 MULEs even though I had a Bowler (sp?) gun.
I completely forgot that I had some guns in my back pack. Also build a few roads and stole a MULE truck. **** carrying 1000 ceramics on your back.

Extreme hilarity pursues when you go Rambo. Need to try Rambo w/ some BTs instead of lurking about.

Bola Gun! You know Bola...like balls on a string. It shoots a Bola at the mule that ties him up and knocks him to the ground. If you headshot him with Bola it will knock him out. Otherwise, he'll wiggle loose in about thirty seconds. Unless, you walk up and give him a kick to the head. (satisfying).

Rambo + BTs usually means a mess of black tar and some boss BT trying to turn you into a voidout. You got hematic grenades so be sure you carry them with you. You still don't want to go stomping around too much or they get agitated. If you stop for a sec you'll be able see em long enough to nade em. Just be sure you carry plenty of blood bags. Because throwing a lot of hematic grenades will draw a lot of your blood. Death Stranding should be renamed "Oh ****! I forgot to bring X on this Mission and now I am screwed".

I am up in the mountains now. I forgot that bastard Kojima made you play a big section of the mountain area without BB. Fricken scary as all hell.

Yes I posted above that I threw my poop at 8 BTs in succession getting a toolbox for the gay who didn’t want to link up.

Still punching through this game. It is surprisingly decent. I think I am benefiting from playing it a bit late as most roads are done. People have put together private rooms in most places. People are also kind enough to leave their long range bikes and trucks lying around. Just makes for a much more holistic experience. I also run around providing materials on most road building locations.

One thing that bums me out is that I kept adding stuff to private locker but then I realized that it doesn’t show up on other sites. Now I have all my guns sitting in the bottom most part of Lake Knot city with chiral artist. So angry about that one. I also got told that fast travel is disabled and I need to deliver some grains and crap. Going through a walkthrough contents list I am almost halfway through the game now. About 13 hours in. I also do pick up side deliveries as I go along and also sometimes send bots especially if a road is built.

First time I used the Bola gun as well and didn’t realize that those gays wake up even after you kick them down. Had to steal their truck and run as the sticky gun mission had one big gay that I was unable to judo chop. And the idiot with one sticky gun part ran away in a truck.

Some hilarity ensues in missions. Carrying the woman was also hilarious as my legs were out of battery and I just put her on my back ( :bleh: ) and crawled through BT territory without incident.

Btw most BT locations I am just driving my truck or trike through them without incident thus far lol.

Overall it’s a game good enough to keep me engaged so I give it a solid 8/10 thus far.

On Reddit, some Death Stranding enthusiast mentioned:

"You’re making the game much harder on yourself. You shouldn’t really be doing any side stuff until around chapter 6 or so. You gain so many useful items simply by progressing the story. Then, you can go back and knock out the side missions really fast."

If the only way to get there is walking, maybe so. But if you have quick way to travel, you can get level 3 equipment by doing standard orders. This stuff will help you a lot. Especially when you get to the mountain area.

Sounds like you got past the initial learning curve. The Mules can't escape a bola if you are sure you knocked them out. The one's that escaped must have still been awake and struggling. If they are still conscious they have a little yellow infinity sign above them. Stars if they are out cold. If they are still conscious walk right up to them and you'll get prompted to kick em in the head. A headshot with Bola will knock them right out otherwise they can wiggle loose pretty quick. Also, another Mule can come and untie them and wake them up. So methodically knock them out.

You'll have to truck supplies around. Fast travel and private rooms don't allow you to shortcut that. Don't worry about your guns at Chiral Artist. Most big outposts have plenty of materials to fabricate more. Just don't leave important cargo like delivery items in private rooms that are hard to get to later. One other thing that I keep forgetting is that if you leave cargo laying around and move away from it too far you lose it and it is left out for other players to get later. One time I had a truck full of goodies and ran into BTs. So I left it to drop off my delivery and planned to go back and get it later. But I accidently got too far away and lost the entire truck of materials.

PS. You're welcome for all the road building! I was there pounding materials into those road building terminals last week. Actually, it's random who you are sharing stuff with so it probably wasn't me. The Like thing has a purpose in that the more Likes you get the more people share stuff with you. Contributing to building roads is a great way to get a bunch of likes. I just finished episode 6 which is probably close to 2/3 of the way to the end. It's sad that only 25% of all players got this far to get this achievement in the game. It's a shame because the game is very polished. I am always trying to push the envelop of what happens if I do X and the game has coded so many different scenarios that surprise you. Like peeing on BTs, so many different ways to make BB crack up, setting up hilarious traps for mules, building your own ski resort, ... I can't remember a game where the developers spent so much time creating scenarios that 90% of players would miss. I always learn new things even after my second playthrough.

Hit episode 5. Still don't know much about what is going on. Sufficiently intriguing.

Just killed a big BT because it attacked me while I was on the truck. Was a fun mini boss fight.

Trying to build roads but the material requirements are through the roof and ceramics are hard to find unless you invade a MULE site. I got the zip line thing but am not really sure how to set that up yet. Still driving around the trucks since I find I can carry a lot of load :bleh: while going from point A to point B and cargo doesn't get damaged like on a trike.

Enjoyable game thus far. Now going to some snowy mountain detour thing.

Make sure you connect the Chiral network in the road area before trying to contribute. Otherwise you have to build them on your own. Learn to use the zip lines!! They are amazing. You’ll need to do some planning to decide the best place to put them. Usually on mountain ridges are best. You can place each level 1 pole 300 yds apart. And, you’ll need Chiral Network connectivity wherever you put a pole. So you’ll have to connect any prepper before setting up zip lines. Once you have them setup you fly right over BTs or Mule sites right to your destination. I setup networks of 10 - 20 zip line poles that connect 5 or 6 locations and make delivery runs in like 2 mins. This will be especially useful in the mountains where you have to trudge through deep snow. If you are just trying to run through the main story you probably won’t need them as much. Usually your first trip to any new location requires walking or a vehicle. But if you plan on return trips make sure to have enough PCC 2.0s to drop a few zip line poles.

Got it. I don’t play to return to the locations and would most likely do just the main missions and any deliveries that get me through the mains.

It won’t be a big negative to just pound through because you still will have access to everything you need to complete the game. You’ll probably pass me this week as I am taking my time. There doesn’t seem to be too many other games right now to play anyway.

Yes Jan and Feb have been terrible for releases. So bad I even thought about indulging in GRB since acroig keeps on peddling that game.

I did finish the road up to Mountain Knot City. Had to farm the lion BT Boss at the bottom of the hill to get enough chiral crystals. Those lion BTs have a lot a different attacks and are pretty much a pain in the ass. But, once you kill them you get up to 1500 chiral crystals. Here is the finished road with all the scary twists and turns:

Is lion the one that has a glory hole as it’s face? I already boned that nub.
Also is there a way to join your game. Would love to use those roads and leave some poop behind.
