Not a thread to bitch, just a thread to post your experiences with crossfire, and any potential fixes you have found.

Overall my experience has been pretty good, but these 3 games are giving me some issues currently. In particular, Farcry 4 is completely so bad it is literally unplayable. Mad Max is playable (better experience without CFX though). The Witcher 3 is playable, just really bad usage.

My issues:

1.) Farcry 4:
  • Choppy framerate ( @1440p it fluctuates between 100 fps and as low as 20 fps).
  • Even at high framerate it feels extremely sluggish, enough to literally make me feel nauseous. I honestly have to shut it off, and I played BF3 at 20 fps on a 5750 with no problems lol.
  • Flashing textures periodically, not as bad as on 15.7.1, but if you can stomach to play long enough you'll see them occasionally.

2.) Mad Max:
Severe framerate dip every 120 seconds or so with crossfire enabled. Happens at all resolutions from 1080p and higher. Does not happen at all if crossfire is disabled.

3.) The Witcher 3:
Really poor crossfire GPU usage, almost better just using 1 GPU. at any given time if I add up GPU usage it will be slightly higher (maybe) than a single GPU at 100%.

Sidenote- I completely installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, drivers, etc.. I am running the latest BIOS, drivers, etc.. for every single thing in my PC. It is all freshly installed.

Your issue is Windows 10 cause I have no issue on crossfire 7970 setup you mentioned. I am running Windows 7. Windows 8 showed same sucky problems just like Windows 10 on my rig, bottom line both OS suck for gaming.
