I noticed this release doesn't support APU's, is there a particular reason for that? Getting 16.7.3 was a huge improvement over the previous 16.3.2 release and I'm happy with the driver, but I'm kinda curious why APU users don't get non-whql releases.

Glad the freesync issued has been resolved but I'll probably stick with the 16.7.2. as none of the other fixes affect me.

Keep up the good work.

These driver have some issues:

1) black screen at the end of install when I click on reboot. screen goes black, with mouse cursor. (have to reset pc) boots up with the new drivers and such.

2) Overwatch has a small stutter/speed up slowdown every 2 seconds. Turns out that GPU clocks are all over the place, where they are normally at max clock (1050 on 390x)

reinstalled 16.7.3 all the above does not happen.

anyone else has Windows 7 x64 and noticed he can't upgrade since 16.7.3 ?

those drivers will install but fail to update the driver itself ...

switch to a single 390x and you'll be born new to gaming ;)

No I wouldn't gain anything worthwhile over a 290x, and lose the crossfire gains I get in the games that support it. I'm content until the new cards can be had at msrp, then I will probably get a non ref 1080.

I was mainly referring to ditching crossfire. Me, never again.
And the 8Gb on the 390X do make a difference with VSR and Eyefinity resolutions, believe it or not.
But hey, to each their own.

We are of kindred minds when it comes to multi-GPUs. I had my experience and it wasn't very nice.

I am unable to install this version of the driver no matter what I try. I'm stuck on 16.7.3. The error message I get is "Driver Install: user must be a member of the Administrators group". I am an administrator and I ran the .exe file as an administrator, so I don't know what the problem is.

This is happening both when trying to upgrade through the Crimson app and on a fresh download of the driver file.

I have been running multi gpus for the past 8 years full time, and it all started with the voodoo 2 days, wanting dual gpus. have had very few issues, however, not all games support it, and I am open minded enough to realize that most of the time it is not driver issues or AMD's fault that a game doesn't work with it, but rather understand that it is a issue with the game's engine or how the dev's code the game. (example, unity engine does not support multi gpu, not sure if it ever will)

There are games that really are not coded for it, but thru driver manipulation AMD (Nvidia for sli) have managed to make it work. To me, this is not a proper fix or a proper expectation to put on GPU developers. This is one reason driver packages are slowly getting larger and larger. Because AMD/Nvidia have to continue to add code to compensate for crappy game development.

However, with that said, I may be going single gpu my next go around, mainly due to heat. 2 390x crossfire kick ass, but they put off a godly amount of heat if being fully utilized. Works great to heat the house in the winter, but summer is a bitch. Not to mention the power draw:D
