it has no picture but it is working as sound plays

so i can't do a samsung tv factory reset as i can't see the menu to do it

and it has signed in apps

other than using it as a shotgun target or pulling the ic boards and busting them :bleh:

You're just planning to throw it out, but are concerned about anyone fixing it and using your signed in apps?

Personally I would open it up and pull out the boards before tossing it (throw out the boards separately). That should be enough for piece of mind.

Or take it to a store that does consumer electronics recycling programs like Best Buy.

What they said. ^^^ Or log into the apps websites and change your passwords. Or both.

Right there.

Most of the apps I've seen on HT's, have the ability from the app management center to remove devices and re-require authentication (in case of lost phones or tablets). For example, with Vudu you can remove a device's access from it's website.

Makes sense. I thought maybe they still had something curb side where you could just drop it off outside. Toss it in the garage until things chill out?

no that's how you get the new ones

give them your order number and they toss it in the back of your truck

Look at the manual for the TV and try driving it blind. If the TV is turning on but no picture, then the remote and menus are all still probably working just no display. So if you look at the manual you can know exactly where to go blind.

Oooor just pop the back cover off, remove the main board and break it.
