Chernobylite

For some reason I cross-thought two different posts.

I thought this was the 'Deliver us the Moon' thread even though you have that game.

Burn gone wrong. Kinda burned myself.

At least I didn't burn off my ass , ear or nasal hairs. They will be my friends forever 'till the end. :(

Anyone playing this? Saw it pop up on Steam and it looks interesting.
Didn't play much. Bad combat - felt unresponsive, stupid enemy AI. Generic weapons and loot, gathering single generic Resource is boring. Very different compared to STALKER.

Ah ok thanks...that's a bummer, was hoping for that STALKER vibe in a newer game.

Sounds like wasted potential :/

Hold on there, Comrade.

I'm only one hour in but find this game very intriguing so far.

The graphics are absolutely jaw dropping, the best I've seen to date. This adds greatly to the Stalker like setting and atmosphere.

Solid and well done presentation of everything so far, introducing you to the game mechanics, characters and story... plenty of wtf mystery and eastern block quirkiness too. Story and dialogue are excellent; very funny at times and scary at others.

Its not exactly Stalker, its seems like its going to play out more like Fallout 4. You have home base and you go out on missions. I just quit when starting my first mission so I don't know yet if its full open world or more like large levels.

It's also obliviously console designed, huge UI and gamepad prompts. I'm actually using x360 pad cause I'm lazy.

I've enjoyed it so far. I got it on steam when it was $17.99 a few days ago.

Got through one mission so far, momento from the past. Had to look up how to find Sashko :bleh:

When games are under $20, I can't really feel like I wasted money if it sucks.

Game is finally out now. I really enjoyed it. It's not a stalker clone and instead does different things. It offers more story and a way to change history every time you die. There is base building, stealth, action, and story choices. There are only 5 areas of the Zone but they were pretty interesting to explore for the 15 hrs because of points of interest that crop up (visual echoes, horror scenes). Of course there are things they could improve but actually one of the better games I've played this year.

if you liked stalker at all, its likely 14 dollars will be worth trying it. Its not exactly like stalker, but 14 dollars isnt a lot either.
