I find it kinda weird that we canuks up in Montreal,Quebec cant purchase high end video cards through best buy like our friends down south. They dont even advertize high end Amd cards and even though they have Titans and 980tis on thier website, they dont ship to Quebec residents due to shipping restrictions....I mean like WTF ?!?!?!....but they do sell the cheap ****

Feels like I live on the moon or something even though Im just a few hours drive away from the US. Really sux being a canadian hardware enthusiast :-(

Neither does London Drugs ... strange.

That said TigerDirect.ca has AMD cards so all good.
I am curious what a "Radeon Sky 900" card is though.

didnt think they did in the US either.

Havent seen any in the stores in ages.

SKY are virtual desktop cloud streaming cards based on firepro.

They are basically for OnLive type applications.

BestBuy around here only sells the low end stuff too. I don't think there's anywhere to buy highend hardware local in NC anymore. There were two tiger direct stores in Raleigh, but they closed.

Live in Arizona none of the Best Buys that I have been to (Several in the greater Phoenix area) have High end cards and most are NVidia cards. Fry's Electronics in Phoenix and Las Vegas sell high end AMD cards and will match competitors such as Tiger and Newegg. Don't know if they ship to Canada though.

Frys ships to Canada but there warranty and return policy is very sketchy. I personally wouldnt order a $500+ part from them

I feel your pain. I use memory express as first choice, then ncix then newegg.ca. Except Newegg I can price match so it takes a little sleuthing to get the best deal.
Memory express has really great customer service for their online store, I keep trying to get them to open a store in my city to compete with the mostly useless BestBuy. Not having much luck.

This is strange news to me!

Although I'm not a Best Buy fan, I recently was able to get my new R9 390 from them locally. Price: $299.00 + tax.

I would think that, if your local store doesn't have it on the shelf, it would be worth checking their online options. Should be able to get it within a day or two.

Why would you want to? Best Buy is the land of $89 Monster HDMI cables. They sell a screen cleaning kit for $19.99 which is identical to the Monoprice branded $3 kit.

I emailed best buy.ca and this is the response I got from them.

Dear xxxxxx xxxxxx

Thank you for contacting Best Buy Canada in regards to shipping certain products to the province of Quebec. Currently some of our suppliers and/or manufacturers provide products that are offered only in English which is not in compliance with the Quebec language legislations. Therefore, these products are not available for shipping within the province of Quebec. Customers within Quebec may still purchase these products as long as it is shipped to another province. It is then the customer’s responsibility to have the order shipped to Quebec. Should you have any further questions in regards to this legislation please contact your provincial government. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for contacting Best Buy Canada. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

What I don't get is why does a store like Canada computers have them in stock with all the french labels on the boxes but a mega store like Best buy has issues having these products in stock or even available to purchase online.

Sorry I have no sympathy. Ditch the French and join the rest of English speaking Canada.
