Can you get a modern gaming mice with the build quality of the older stuff?

I've been using the Logitech G500s for several years with no issues. Thinking it would eventually have a break down I bought the G502 Hero on sale as a backup. It's been patiently waiting in the box for over a year.

The remade 518: I would strongly recommend ignoring it, unless I got some weird hw versions.

Never in my life have I had 3 mice on 4 different systems (mine, sisters laptop, moms desktop and laptop) purchased across a 1 year span on 3 different shops (all 518 remake) behave so unstable. It's not immediate. I actually had to clean up my old 518 and swap it with the new 518 so mom could safely boot her PC with an actual mouse cursor - at all times. Instead of phone calls and images of desktop and no mouse cursor. Unbelievable.

yeah, sure you can try and change USB ports to get it back online, but damn that hardware inside has been unreliable to me. Also, just feels cheap compared to the trusty original, which I luckily have two of (one still being used by mom). It has NEVER gone offline, not once.

Wow, pretty different from most of what I've heard. I considered the 518 when I was shopping for a mouse but went with the G703. Three mice with issues is no fluke though.. that sucks.

Have you tried RMA'ing the mice?

All 3 of them? Only the one I bought for my mom - exact same thing. Gave up after that. Cursed

Every once in a while the mouse will not wake up. Powered, onboard, USB3 or 2 port, modern X570 or even an old i7 920. Maybe it's an European version thing with ..substandard components, different controller. I'm gonna try a different brand next :)

Hope you get something that works. For gaming, looks like Zowie (now BenQ, they got bought out) is still pumping out some great mice.

Steelseries is also making great products still. I picked up their Apex PRO when I spilled coffee in my Corsair K95. Much prefer the Apex. Really comfy and nice to type on.
