Hey guys, after sending Mogul's skiing pics to a coach of the team,
I noticed that with a D500, the pics are 13MB which is just under the usual 15MB limit that has been this way for, well, 20 years...

In 2017, do you think we should raise email size limits across industries?

If not, what do you think is the driver to keep things down?

Discuss.

Email was never meant to transport such large files as that. Better off with dropbox or ftp transfers. I often have people asking me why they can't email that 200MB zip file. Should see how fast an exchange store can fill up. We have employees with ridiculous sized mailboxes boxes. People tend to get spoiled when they got cloud email such as hotmail, gmail, yahoo mail, etc...you can send large attachments through them.

Correct, i work in IT and i've seen user with over 10GB mailbox size in the company I work for:p

attachments have to be base64 encoded which can inflate files up to 3x, maybe more. It wasn't originally designed for anything beyond plain text.
