    Doom The Dark Ages

To be fair it’s great to play bf2 now that it’s getting a lot of people playing again!

    Doom The Dark Ages

Welp, finished it, and... alright i guess. I started playing original 2016 doom right after and holy crap it's so much better it's not even funny.

    -Post pics of your computer-

Decided to upgrade (had a 5800x3d) and try an AIO for the first time (usually use dual tower coolers). Honestly it's kinda nice, albeit i do hear the pump if the pc is just idle if it's set higher than 55% (it's set on idle to be 30% and ingame 65%, cant hear it over fans). MSI b850 gaming white...

    Doom The Dark Ages

Pretty much. They got everything right in 2016, and then somehow made two follow up games that were way worse and had game stopping cutscenes shoved in. The parry thing was still a horrible addition in eternal and here it's just so cartoony it takes me out of the experience.

    Doom The Dark Ages

I was wondering what memory that section was bringing up, been so long since shogo (and I remember we never got a sequel). I’m still kinda annoyed by the coloured orb to parry design being very blatant, but at least you can increase game speed from default. The physics and damage modelling of...

    Doom The Dark Ages

The fact this runs with no shader compilation stutter, no traversal stutter, and no long shader compilation at start, just cements how much a piece of dogshit UE5 is and how unfortunately the whole industry has been captured by that garbage.

    Doom The Dark Ages

I preferred pretty much everything about 2016 over eternal, including the level design (2016 felt like an actual place overrun, where eternal were very blatant in your face arenas). Having health/ammo be pickups was perfectly fine to me from a design point of view, but i know a lot of people...

    Doom The Dark Ages

That was my problem with eternal, having to glory kill to regain ammo slowed the game so hard, and on harder difficulties you literally couldn't avoid it as you would just run out of ammo right away. Glad to see them gone for small mobs and reduced for big ones.

    GeForce 5xxx series (Blackwell)

Funny thing, i checked my 5080s price, and its MSRP jumped by $220 (it rose by 150 a few weeks ago too).

    nVidia's Half-Life 2 RTX

Probably due to it being older source and limited multi threading use, but man anytime there was a lot of fire, input latency went so high even with 2x FG at 1440p with a 5080. Nearly 100ms, made it feel like a rubber band.

    GeForce 5xxx series (Blackwell)

I've been happy with my 5080. I used to be kinda meh on framegen, but after having played cyberpunk path traced it kinda changed my mind. Also, I can finally play helldivers 2 illuminate maps without really bad frame drops, as the smooth motion thing (which for some reason is only a 50xx feature...

I finally beat the game of life.

Damn that's so cool, but I hope it doesn't lead to more gambling and you can take your mega win and consider yourself having beaten gambling!

I finally beat the game of life.

Like, an actual lottery jackpot or something work related? Either way congrats!

    Wow... 22 years.

The quote in my profile from 2004, I wonder if it even applies anymore to AMD gpus (who i still think of as ATI). It was about catalyst ai, I assume its not a thing anymore?
