    I think I get the bug with my fury x's but they don't get hot enough to matter at 20% fan they top out at 50c on w3

    card two did go to 21% fan for a bit but no higher and it was running cooler of the two


    and as many times as this has happened with nv why with a driver major overhaul why would you not be monitoring temperatures and or fan speeds with AB or something
    I have 2 computers...
    One has a 280x and my main has the gtx670. But I use the 280x in my main now as my 670 fried. Waiting for oculus to buy a 980ti

    The issue has to do with Overdrive in the driver. If you accept the EULA and enable OverDrive it locks the fan at 20% speed. What is strange is that throttling is not kicking in when the GPU reaches a certain temp, neither are the safety features in which a GPU shutsdown to protect itself, ala a system crash or restart. People that have seen or have issues report that the system just locks or power downs and the GPU is pretty much dead upon restart.

    Its also happened in the past to Nvidia.

    For those that don't know, there is currently a bug with the new AMD Crimson drivers that cause the fan speed to not go above 20% on some cards. People have been having cards die or damaged since upgrading drivers.
