The screendoor effect on DK2 was probably not visible even if you looked really close at the display of the phone it´s using "in the real world".
I read some hands-on articles with the CV1 and they all say the screen door effect is gone. Is seems the display improved quite a bit. The CV1 sound a like awesome stepping stone for VR.

Some on redit are saying otherwise, but like all, I am looking forward to this after having tried DK2 (and nearly puking) even for 15 mins in Elite Dangerous, I was very taken back at the sense of immersion even though SDE was blatantly in your face.
        Come on Q1 2016!

Very encouraging and look forward to this tech. Now what sort of hardware/hookup you need is something very important.

Q1 can't come fast enough. Maybe 4gb is enough for awhile if you use VR since resolution is 2160x1200 or 1080x1200 per eye. That is less then my 1440p monitor.

I'm sure that I would be fine with 4gb at 3440x1440.

I wouldn't be put off by "only" 4gb of vram right now

One thing OcRift is popular with is Indies. I saw a **** load of indies demoing their games at E3 with OcRift. Maybe a lot of them are trying to get in on the VR boat early just in case it explodes.

ive been trying on and off for about 5-6yrs now. Granted its not as bad as it used to be but still not enjoyable. My little cousin made me watched avengers 2 in 3d and I think I watched a 3rd of the movie without the glasses on lol.

                          I mean...

I'll probably buy one. I remember going to a VR arcade here (that lasted about 4 months before shutting down) about 20 years ago and was really impressed with what they had, and all they had was shitty games. I remember saying to my dad, this is the future of playing games.... I was only off by 15 years

Haven't searched much, what's the projected price for it ?

I think $300 is reasonable. Definitely looking forward to this. The great thing is this really is going to spark a resurgence in the PC building hobby. To get reasonable frame rates you are going to have to have some really powerful rigs, which means vendors are going to war again. With all this new money going into pc building, we might even see new players on the hardware front. Perhaps new video card companies to I dare say another main processor company. New money brings in new challengers.

Now the game changes from waiting on game developers pushing the envelope (which they haven't done in the last 15 years) back to the hardware needing to catch up to the titles a la 1996-2001. In my opinion the golden era of pc gaming and building.

VR is going to bring that back. This time with a whole new generation of builders. This is going to be a really big deal and possibly that great era happening all over again.

Put it this way. VR is such a game changer that PC Sim gaming will be hot again.

I would love to couple my elliptical with an OcRift. Tie in the resistance pattern to going uphill/downhill, have the ability to look around different landscapes whilst "jogging", that would make it a great motivator for people to actually exercise.

Someone did try to create platform that lets you move around while standing. It has sensor that tracks your step and turns. I don't remember the name of the project but you're required to wear special shoes.

At an event for the entertainment industry in Los Angeles tonight, Nokia is announcing Ozo, a next-generation camera for capturing audio and video in 360 degrees. Nokia intends for the device, which is now in its pre-production phase, to become the default mode of shooting virtual-reality experiences for Hollywood, the media, and the advertising industry. A formal launch, along with a final sale price, is planned for the fall. But Ozo is not a consumer camera — the device is expected to sell in the mid-five figures.
