Q1 can't come fast enough. Maybe 4gb is enough for awhile if you use VR since resolution is 2160x1200 or 1080x1200 per eye. That is less then my 1440p monitor.Ryzen 1700x 3.9ghz, Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro, Asus CrossHair 6 Hero 9, 16gb DDR4 3200 @ 3466, EVGA 1080 Ti, 950w PC pwr & cooling PS, 1TB NVMe Intel SSD M2 Drive + 256mb Mushkin SSD + 512gb Samsung 850evo M.2 in enclosure for Sata III and 2x 1tb WD SATA III, 34" Dell " U3415W IPS + 27" IPS YHAMAKASI Catleap. I'll probably buy one. I remember going to a VR arcade here (that lasted about 4 months before shutting down) about 20 years ago and was really impressed with what they had, and all they had was shitty games. I remember saying to my dad, this is the future of playing games.... I was only off by 15 years
Haven't searched much, what's the projected price for it ?
It's like unicorns vomiting chocolate rainbows all over me as I float through a lollipop garden on a magic carpet.

I think $300 is reasonable. Definitely looking forward to this. The great thing is this really is going to spark a resurgence in the PC building hobby. To get reasonable frame rates you are going to have to have some really powerful rigs, which means vendors are going to war again. With all this new money going into pc building, we might even see new players on the hardware front. Perhaps new video card companies to I dare say another main processor company. New money brings in new challengers.
Now the game changes from waiting on game developers pushing the envelope (which they haven't done in the last 15 years) back to the hardware needing to catch up to the titles a la 1996-2001. In my opinion the golden era of pc gaming and building.
VR is going to bring that back. This time with a whole new generation of builders. This is going to be a really big deal and possibly that great era happening all over again.
Put it this way. VR is such a game changer that PC Sim gaming will be hot again.

just think what you could do with exercise equipment like bikes and treadmills with VR if they actually integrated it properly could be really cool.Main rig: look at system spec tab
Storage Server: Dual AMD Opteron 6120 CPUs, 64Gigs ECC Ram 50TB usable space across 3 zfs2 pools
HOURGLASS = most appropriate named ICON/CURSOR in the Windows world :-)
In a dank corner of ATI central, the carpet covered with corn flakes, the faint sound of clicking can be heard........Click......click, click............as the fate of the graphics world and the future of the human race hangs in the balance.

Today Nokia is beginning to lay out its vision. At an event for the entertainment industry in Los Angeles tonight, Nokia is announcing Ozo, a next-generation camera for capturing audio and video in 360 degrees. Nokia intends for the device, which is now in its pre-production phase, to become the default mode of shooting virtual-reality experiences for Hollywood, the media, and the advertising industry. A formal launch, along with a final sale price, is planned for the fall. But Ozo is not a consumer camera — the device is expected to sell in the mid-five figures.

It seemed like the amazing HTC Vive virtual reality headset would be the first to market—ahead of Sony’s Morpheus and the Oculus Rift. That’s not necessarily happening. According to a new press release, consumers probably won’t be getting their hands on Valve VR until 2016. Shame.

While originally, the Vive was set to ship this holiday to consumers (here’s the proof) a Valve press release now suggests a staggered rollout: only “a limited quantity of community and developer systems” will be available this holiday, with consumers having to wait till the first quarter of next year.”Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.” - Albert Einstein

The price of Oculus might cost more than $350.
As we approach the Rift’s Q1 2016 consumer launch, Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey has given us a new minimum for the still unannounced Oculus Rift price. In the humble beginnings of Oculus, the company sought to create an affordable consumer VR headset that would fall around the $300/$350 price point of the Rift DK1 and DK2 …

But... I'm willing to pay pretty much whatever the cost (within reason), provided the experience is good.
