I have totally and utterly lost all interest in almost all 2d games after getting my rift

Before I would get excited about new games and wanting to try them, signing up to every Alpha/beta. But now its just a big meh every time I see or read about any new or released 2d game

The only 2d games I am playing right now and in the foreseeable future are mmo's because I love the genre and its the only genre that wont come anytime soon to VR. But even mmos lost its spark and arent as fun

Quantum Break got released and its by one of my favorite devs. I would throw myself at the game so fast before. But now I dont even care

For VR games its like being a kid again. Every singel new game announcement and release its WOW MUST TRY! *THROWS MONEY AT THE SCREEN*

There are regular games and not tech demos

Im playing Chronos most right now. Its kinda like Zelda and Dark souls put together into one game
Then Lucky tales, its a mario like platformer
Then Technolust which is amazing, I dont know what to compare this one too because its really unique and I havent played anything like this before

Dreadhalls is very cool but **** it scares me to death and I cant play it

There are more but I just havent had the time to try more and I want to play those I have

I dont see any problem with selection of good games to play. Its like a new console release there arent hundreds of games yet but there are good games to play and many more coming

Well I've just lost 3hrs on Project cars. Holy crap the game is amazing. I'm lacking a bit of CPU horse power so having to turn the settings down, but after about 10 seconds you completely forget about the graphical fidelity.

Yeah the graphics are also one of the things that is hard to convey for others who havent tried VR.

If you put a vr game in 2d it probably looks like crap compared to todays AAA games but when you play it in VR its the most amazing thing ever

Look at dreadhalls in any yoputube video, it looks like complete and utter **** graphically, I would laugh playing it in 2d but in VR its so damn real!

Why do we play games? To have fun. If i'm having fun playing a VR "tech demo" then imo i'm having "full experience of gaming" no matter how long it is.

Not only that but some VR games are just physical demanding of you, they can't be longer then a few minutes, people need to realize this is a different kind of gaming, comparing it to normal 2D gaming is wrong imo, you should compare it more to real world playing, where you do real physical work, for example a 2D FPS, you play sited on a chair or couch, holding M&K or gamepad, a VR fps you play standing up and you move your real arms and body to shoot the bad guys, this demands real physical work from you, so you will (probably) never be able to play a 5 hour or more straight fps game on VR.

It will support touch when its released but I dont understand how it will work..

You dont have any resistance when you are grabbing and pulling yourself.
So I am very very curious how they will make it work in this game

Does Vive have anything similar where you climb things? I want to know how that will work

I'm assuming they would probably just use force feedback or something, but no there's no resistance, wouldn't worry too much about resistance i mean, not like a controller has that either.

And then keep in mind the average couch potato is going to work up a sweat just by lifting their arms above their heads repeatedly.

WTF I was just going to order figuring it would be like a month or something but this is just as bad as the x800xt launch that eventually led me to cancel my pre order and pick up a 6800gt.
Actually the 6800gt was intended to hold me over till the x800 arrived but I loved it so I canceled the other.

I think I'll just wait and likely get whatever hits B&M first to start off.

are you ordering from occulus? i heard you can order it from bestbuy pc combo and then just return the pc, at least that's what they are saying and looks like retail will be getting them before the preorders

Considering all the bullsh*t people who have pre-ordered and have had their ship dates pushed back have gone through, my level of sympath is pretty low. It does suck to have been lead on and have to drive 2 hours, so you get it for that.

I think the whole release to retail before all preorders have been fulfilled is complete and utter bullsh*t. That's why I'm being kind of a dick about this.

I'm honestly considering it as well. The only thing making me not pull the trigger is there isn't anything "must play" on VR yet.

If something comes out between now and the end of June (when I'm supposed to get my Rift) then I may reconsider...that or if the selection of quality VR porn increases dramatically
