Doesn't look like much changed over the beta set. Still getting the above weirdness with D3 at 1600p fullscreen and GW2 still has issues with AO.
Oh well maybe the next ones, back to the 304's for now.
I'm getting crashes of the nVidia control panel with these (306.23) as soon as I attempt to access 'system information' even on a freshly-installed system...wtf nVidia
I just installed the 306.23 driver and it has disabled my soundcard. I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer.
Usually I don't install nVidia's HD Audio Driver because I don't need it as my monitor is connnected via DVI and sound goes from the soundcard to the speakers. After it killed my sound, I reinstalled the driver and this time did install the nvidia sound driver, but still I have no audio playback devices listed in the sound panel.
My soundcard hardware is detected and its driver is loading, but windows isn't detecting it as a playback device after installing this version of the video driver.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this?
Update: I just went back to the 301.42 driver and the problem is still there. If I go to 'Control Panel - Sound', the 'Playback' tab shows: "No audio devices are installed." Yet on the 'Recording' tab, it shows "'What U Hear' Creative SB X-Fi - Default Device. In Device Manager, under "Sound, video and game controllers" the sound card shows up as "Creative SB X-Fi" with device status of "This device is working properly."
The driver update must have messed up something in the registry is all I can figure.
The main reason I installed this update was to fix the 'factory overclocked card gets stuck in low-power mode issue", and now I get no sound.
I'm not a big fan of nVidia's driver team right now...
Update #2: I did a 'repair install' of the creative drivers and it fixed it. Still, it's not good that the nvidia driver can disable your sound.
Do you have a ssd by any chance? The xtremegamer is known to drop out when you use one.
No, just hard drives. I googled for this and it seems to happen in a variety of situations. Whatever the nvidia driver install does seems to sometimes mess up the sound card driver so the OS doesn't see it as a playback device. I think in most cases reinstalling the sound card driver (or repair install) should fix it.
I can't remember if I've had this happen before, I might have, but only vaguely recall. I usually don't install the nvidia HD audio driver, but Windows installs 4 drivers for it (seems to be normal). Maybe when Windows auto-installs those, it scrambles something up. Oh well, took me a couple of hours to straighten it out, but at least I didn't have to do a fresh OS install.
This latest developer driver 306.63 can´t be newer than the whql, it doesn´t have the fixes for borderlands 2 which are in 306.23 and are quite evident in some gpus.
I wish the 304.79 included the borderlands 2 fixes because fuel and gta 4 were running smooth as silk with it, not anymore
Said driver installation failed even with putting the .inf in the right folder. Gonna stick with the 306.63 for now. If anyone can get the driver to install right on win7 64-bit let me know the solution you used.

If you d/l the international version, you need to use the international version of the modified .ini. I've installed with no issues. The version on nvidia website is the international set.

I'll let you know how it performs on my card in Borderlands 2 now that SLi is apparently properly supported.
-edit-
So, not much change. It seems the game may be a little smoother overall but still in places such as opportunity with a lot of stuff going on, my framerate drops into the 30's
Definitely noticeable slowdowns. I am sure as I get to the rooftop level (those who have played Borderlands 2 know what I am talking about) it'll drop even further.
Something doesn't sound right Sazar, i'm having the opposite experience. Feels smoother on this set and never see below 60fps with maximum settings @ 1440P.
I am using the slightly newer PhysX drivers though.

I hit 20 FPS in some patches for that level
Seems kind of ridiculous.
What resolution are you pumping. My game never drops below 60+ fps irrespective of how many gays start dancing on the screen..

1080p, everything maxed. I even tried medium Physx but the frame-rate isn't too different.
The game is smoother than before and typically stays right at 62 (I play using the "smoothed" setting) with all options on. The weirdness is only on a couple of levels and areas. I've seen plenty of threads describing similar drops into the 20's and 30's. The new SLi profile probably is what makes things smoother but I am hoping the rumored patch being worked on will make things smoother
Fortunately, google searches show I am not the only one experiencing some performance drops
I played through the Bunker level on Borderlands 2, where I seemingly get the worst performance, and my FPS now stays up in the upper 40's the whole way through. BUT, it is still horrendously laggy in parts even without any frame-rate drops.
Not sure if it is SLi profile related or has something to do with PhysX.
anyone experiencing crashing with the 306.97 .. crashing on GW2 - BL2 and now POE Beta.
