Latest drivers giving me black flashing when GSync is disabled. ****ing annoying. I don't want to be limited to 100FPS playing CSGO. If I set it to fixed refresh rate in the game profile, the screen will flash black every couple of seconds.

I don't understand how this was an issue 2 drivers ago, they fixed it in the last WHQL, and now bring it back with this release.

          Morons.

Just loaded these up. I had two issues with the last WHQL, though I fixed one:

                1) GSync turned off causing black screen flashing on GSync monitor even if it wasn't the monitor displaying the game (fixed by leaving Gsync on and turning off VSYNC in NVCP in specific game profile .. my FPS in CSGO is always 400+ so it never engages gsync)

                2) monitor waking up from sleep .. cursor would go invisible until I right clicked and selected something, then it would pop up.

next time my monitor goes to sleep i'll see if it still happens. I thought the cursor was lost on my 2nd monitor (which is usually turned off) but after 5min of trying to find it, I realized it was just invisible.

My problem with last 2 driver sets is that vsync keeps turning on in NVCP with GSync enabled. Driving me up the wall.

                    I've heard of that issue.

You want VSYNC enabled with GSync though, to keep you within range of GSync.

I only disable VSYNC for CSGO. Every other game, I keep it on. No point in going over my max refresh rate (100Hz) with a GSync display.

You want that. Vsync doesnt kick in until you pass your monitor refresh rate. So if your running 165Hz refresh rate, Vsync doesnt turn on until you pass 165FPS.

No KAC is right, you want vsync disabled, so that it operates like FastSync above your refresh rate, and like Gsync under your refresh rate.

I've been having the same issue KAC, have to disable vsync every time I boot into windows.

it doesn't operate like fastsync because Maxwell doesn't support it

Gsync does. If you disable vsync it allows your fps to go far above the refresh rate but still sync the last frame. IE- you can run 200 fps at 165hz Gsync.

                              okay that's ****ing nuts.

so a gsync capable monitor gives you fast-sync as well ?? wtffff

I know disabling vsync allows your fps to go above your refresh rate, but I thought gsync disabled itself once it was out of range (aka, my range is 0-100 as my monitor is 100hz) ..

                              interesting

Yeh I thought it just disabled Gsync at first too, but it seems to behave like fast sync which is bloody excellent.

Looks like GeForce Experience got a facelift today. The main UI has adopted Googles Material Design Aesthetics (+1).

Shadowplay and sharing preferences has been redone as well. Instead of opening GFE, you can fire up an overlay with a keyboard shortcut (Alt+Z - customizable) and access everything from there.

They also seem to have added some screenshot saving and sharing options. You can save screenshots (ALT+F1 - customizable) and auto-upload to Google or Imgur. I didn't see an option to select a custom folder for saving images. Hopefully, they will add that option in an update.

                                              Some screenshots:

                                              Overlay Screenshots

Definitely digging the new UI, on the fence about the overlay. We'll see how useful it is over time.

Ha! I knew it! I knew the UI elements looked familiar.

Angular Material is a JavaScript framework made by Google. I've used it a couple times,

So the new GFE is just a web-browser, packaged with Electron. Electron just takes web files, packages them up with Chromium, and you have an app.

That explains why its faster than the old versions

I really hate how that "Press Alt-Z" bar comes up when you launch a game, it also comes up in full screen mpc-hc. Of course there's no way to disable just that pop-up unless you disable recording entirely. Stupid.

had some weirdness from that driver. bf4 locked up to a white screen and core was stuck to 645mhz. restarted, everything seems fine now.

Yeah I used to do that on amd (I think the restarts were mandatory or at least suggested) but never had an issue before with nvidia. Anyway, is it just me or do games feel smoother with this driver? BF4 is stuck to 100fps at 100hz for me with gsync on this driver and was on previous ones and I can tell something changed, it feels smoother than before.

With old Shadowplay you have to use desktop recording + borderless window + alt-tab out to start recording as it won't start recording if game window is in focus.

I might consider upgrading to the new bloatware package if it allows seamless borderless window recording without the need to alt-tab.
Don't really mind keeping desktop recording enabled but the alt-tab must go.

My games play from an SSD and Shadowplay saves to another mechanical drive (including the temp files). I never had this issue in the past, with the same settings.
