Also apparently you guys don't remember when Nvidia first introduced AO into their drivers. Now that was a cluster****. Those drivers were a mess, then they released a WHQL that broke all forms of AA. Then it was the driver that broke fan control. All right in a three or four month period.

There is no mention of 3D Vision in the release notes I read here at work. Can someone please tell me what profile changes/additions there are and if the 3D Vision driver matches the rest of the package?
Intel Core i9 10900K @ 5.2GHz, Asus Maximus XII Apex, GSkill Trident-Z Royal DDR4 3200MHz 32GB CAS11, Asus Strix 3080Ti OC, Creative Labs SXFI Theater, Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB, Corsair AXI 1500i PSU, ThermalTake View 71, Corsair K95 Platinum RGB, Corsair Dark Core RGB SE, Acer Predator X34, Windows 10 Professional X64
Secret World TXAA seemed to have a little sharpening in the previous version, so I'd stopped using SweetFX. This new driver is a tad blurry again.
EDIT: And the new 1.5.1 version of SweetFX makes the screen REALLY dark even if all settings are disabled (ie. it's not supposed to be doing ANYTHING.) Removing SweetFX again brings it back to where it should be.
Did they reduce the brightness values so that you HAVe to use sweetfx to pump it up again??
Rome 2 needs a patch from CA, it's not just a driver profile fix from what I remember being said. I've never had a problem with SLI or had to wait for a profile, so I'm a bit shocked at how long it's taking. Nvidia needs to whip some people into shape at CA and get this stuff fixed.
Is BF4 even worth installing? I'm in the beta but not sure it's even worth my time..

For myself now when I restart my PC, what used to take a few seconds to boot, takes 2-3 minutes. I can't think of any other changes I've done other than install these new BETA drivers for BF4.

Why would NV wait for a patch or its CA fault, AMD somehow had a cfx profile ready a while ago(im waiting for a sli profile too for the 680sli setup here) It may just me but if the situations were reversed we would have threads about how shitty amd's cfx support is lol.
Yes if u have the bf4 beta id give it a whirl, decent game so far.
His contribution in the pc gaming section was second to none. It hasn't been the same since he left.
He was a racist prick. Could get ****ed for all I care, glad he left and continues to be. Grade A scum.
And I'm not sure what the deal is with SLI working in Rome 2. Obviously it's not just a driver fix or it would have been done by now. One of the nVidia guys said back at release that Rome 2 needed a patch internally in order for SLI to work properly. Take it how you want, I'm just repeating what I read.
I'm not entirely sure why CFX works. It's strange for sure, but if it was a simple driver fix, why wouldn't nV have done it by now?

I thought I read something about ManuelG saying it needed a driver rewrite for it to work, so your right in that respect. That being said its a poor excuse imo, amd has had to do this for many twimtbp game(pretty sure its an amd sponsored game) Doesnt seem to be a priority for them amd they should be held to the same standards as amd(ie they dropped the ball on this one)
The game code has issues that conflict with SLi specifically. The have recently patched these issues afaik (check the latest patch notes), so now Nv may be able to work on SLi support.
It happens. CoH2 does not have MGPU support either, and uses a similar system to Rome2.
SSAO is the 'reference' method for AO, HBAO is NVIDIA's optimized version, HDAO is AMD's. See Far Cry 3, you can have SSAO or HDAO or HBAO. Samething, different performance h/w optimizations.

'would have'? 2008-2011 We had threads about AMD drivers all the time, because a game was TWIMTBP and AMD didn't get the final code update till too late before launch to get a driver out, blah blah blah

Yeah, but HBAO is much higher quality than SSAO. Common implementations of SSAO are low resolution and have a tendancy to shimmer in motion as well as often looking blocky.
I haven't really tested Nvidias driver forced HBAO, but in a few games that have used it natively it seems to intoduce a small amount of mouse lag. BC2, BF3, and Stalker come to mind.

Has anyone tried Windows 8.1 on Nvidia's legacy drivers?
I've thought about trying Windows 8.1 on a very old PC (Geforce 6150) that's in need of a format anyway, but the latest legacy drivers for Win8 are from January
Anyone else having issues with these drivers and afterburner working correctly?
What issue are your having and what afterburner version.

Im getting wrong overclocks (ie it reads that its at 1200mhz core, but it is really running at stock). If I exit and restart then it will work properly. This is all being verified by 3dmark runs.
