    DirectX 10.1 white paper leaked

For those wanting the low down on the upcoming Dx10 revision, TheInq has the scoop on some leaky action (ewwwwww, that just sounded wrong...).

There is a nice table on pages 4 and 5 lining up what the additional .1X adds, and then a few pages more of explanation. It looks to be a good primer on DX10.1 and a bunch of the tech it brings. If you are hardcore into graphics, it probably will not go over your head.

For the average techie, it is a worthwhile read though, and should save you from getting the info piecemeal. Grab it before it is pulled.

the part about increased vertex shader sounds interesting.
I liked the pictures that show the difference as well.

In summary, DirectX 10.1 finally gives developers the tools they need to eliminate all types of
aliasing artifacts from interactive real-time games, delivering a major increase in image
      quality.

it sounds like ATi is planing to take IQ crown back with dx 10.1.

come on start programming games around these features.

but he said that he got that from someone.
"It has been widely rumored that the upcoming RV670 will support DX10.1. This white paper that just found its way to us from someone I'll call a "friend of TeamATI" seems to replace a lot of rumor with some actual substance."

I don't think by someone he means himself.
so who is this person that leaked this info?

Actually you are wrong. The same features have to be supported by nVidia to achieve the DX10.1 certification (free AA).

I just read the paper, these new cards are going to be a beast. If you bought a 8800 or 2900 for future proof that was a really poor choice. I am glad I didn't, these new specifications are just incredible, improved compatibility with hdr and with deferred rendering for example are really nice. Not to mention global illumination, which I hope is actually usable with these cards. If you bought a 8800 or 2900 to play DX9 then I hate you, rich bastards .

I bought the 8800GTX because it was the best option for the time.... I will get one of these new monsters during tax time... Crysis looks to be very re-playable.. so hopefully i will be able to run it all on very high with the new cards.
