any way to use the remote wonder with a cable box?

I'm use MCE 2005 with an AIW X800XT and the remote wonder II. Does anyone know if there is any way to have the remote control change the channel on the cable box?
I know I could buy an MCE remote with an IR blaster but I'm trying to save money.
    Thanks

Hrmm.. I don't think it's possible as the RW I/II are radio frequency and most cable boxes are IR (Infrared). It just doesn't have the right transmitter that you're cable box is listening for.

Unless you cable box has some sort of cable to connect to your PC or PC communication link of some sort... then you could simply script buttons on the remote using the RW software. But I doubt this as I haven't seen a cable box this way.

Thanks. Maybe you could answer another question? I just hooked up the PC to my HDTV, but I'm not sure how to watch HDTV through the PC because of the hookups.
The cable box has a component output for HDTV. So, the problem is the dongle for the video card, the dongle has a component connection, but it looks like it's for output only.
So, I can use a HDTV connection from the PC to the TV, but how do I get an HDTV connection from the cable box to the PC.
So far, the ATI documentation hasn't covered that from what I've seen.
Perhaps the cable box can output HDTV over regular coax?
Then I could run coax from the box to the PC, and then use component from the PC to the TV.
I will muck around with that, but I was just wondering if maybe you had an answer to that in the meantime.
      Thanks
