    ATI DVD Recording and Nero

I PVR a program in DVD Preset and remove commercials with Womble Mpeg editor and yet when i try to convert to a DVD for my standalone player, Nero very often fails in encoding. I'm using the latest Nero 7.2.0.3b
    Nero Vision 4.5.0.15

I would so appreciate any ideas

well since u already have a file in mpeg-2 format, why do you need to recode it? why not just use a DVD authoring software which doesn't recode the video?

Nero Vision is a DVD authorizing software, and sorry i don't mean recode. Nero converts it to VOBs etc and yet fails often, i've tried the Mpegs in edited version and unedited(raw) and yet same result. I just assumed ATI DVD record mode was fully compliant.

What software do you recommend AbAqS?
and thanks for your timely response.

Well i've had some problems with VisionEspress, so i started using DVD Lab Pro.
It's not as easy to use as VE, but when u get the hang of it, it's great.
Also it tests the mpeg files when you import them, so you know if there's something wrong with them...

I always record in DVD-HIGH format with my ATI All-In-Wonder X1800XL card.

Anytime I want to put the content on DVD I use NeroVision and I had yet to have one fail.

I burn movies and other shows on a very regular basis. Some times I use DVD-RW+ so I can watch something upstairs but no desire to keep the show forever.

          Cat 6.5
          MMC 9.14
          Nero Burning ROM - 6.6.0.14
          NeroVision - 3.1.0.14

A little more information on the failure might be useful here.
Maybe there is a problem with the newer Nero version that has been introduced?
          No longer here

I have now tried TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 and nary a hiccup, it has not failed once!! Nero has some work to do. So it's the round file for Nero Vision , i'll use it to burn and that's it.

Thanks for all your help - View2Askew
