X1300 Video Capability suddenly not very interesting.

BT: What would you say is the single best feature of this card [nVida 7300]?
AF: Personally, I would say it is the video capabilities. This board is capable of running H.264 video at 1080p. Very sweet for a Media Center PC. This card will be able to decode H.264, MPEG2 HD and VC1 at 1080p resolutions [that's 1920x1080 - Ed]. This is thanks to the dedicated video engine built within the chip and our PureVideo technology. That is a pretty amazing feature for a card that costs well under £100.

    Yeah,….

    That is a kicker isn’t it,….

I never really like the scaling done in the X1000 family where only the high-end X1800 class was suitable for 1080p.

Its like ATI is playing the same old game where lower end products have fewer features, like an AIW X1800XL with respect to a TV Wonder VE.

Yeah, 7x00 nVidia cards are looking really good if they have hardware assisted H.264 video at 1080p. I was seriously considering a 7800GS if and when they come out and one would hope that they can do everything a lower end 7300 class card can do and more.
