Encoding with DivX in ATI MMC

    Heya guys,

I've downloaded latest DivX codecs but when I encode a 1h show with MMC and DivX, the file is like 2GB after 1h! Then I must totally re-encode it in DivX again with VirtualDub to get a file with a size near 300MB. Same resolution, audio quality, all same settings.

Is there a way to directly convert into the 300MB size? I know this will requiere CPU time, but I only record a show when I'm not on my computer.

And btw, I know it's correctly encoded with DivX when recording the show, because the file is digitally signed DivX Compression in it's properties.

    Thx for the help
If it aint broke, don't fix it

Create a special Divx map settings to match your needs.
    All supported with MMC.

Open the recording settings in MMC and create a new MPEG4 profile with lower bitrate, select the new profile for your recordings and that's it.

What do I need to install to have a MP3 encoding option that has the higher settings and doesn't crash after 10 seconds?
