Is MMC and Nforce Soundstorm compatible...

    Hi:

I just upgraded to an Abit NF7-S 2.0 Motherboard, and I am still using my Audigy soundcard. I've been toying with the idea of pulling it out and trying the Soundstorm. I've read good things about it, but I recall a few threads regarding incompatibility between Soundstorm and MMC.
    Has this ever been resolved?

    Thanks,

    CF

I have almost the same setup on an nf7-s v2 using raid 0 16/16 stripe, using the soundstorm, and with mmc 8.9 and cat 4.2, it finally works. Use the nforce 2.45 chipset dirvers, any later version for me caused a loss of my rear speakers. The soundstorm will convert analog to digital on the fly, so all my captures will play back in digital. I removed my audigy, and the soudstorm to me is far better.Let me know if you need help setting it up, took me 2 months of hair-pulling frustration but I finally got it, and boy it's nice.

I think the issues with soundstorm and MMC are for digital output of the TV audio stream. For capture, I've used Soundstorm for over a year and I've noticed no issues other than the crappy implementation and poor driver support that Soundstorm really is. As far as working well with the AIW for captures, and video in general its a good combination. My Soundstorm issues are related to flakey drivers in audio sound recording applications, not with MMC or video capture.
