    Hi there,
i know that the radeon does the hardware decompression of mpeg2-DVD but my question was if it uses same decopmression techniques for DIVX?
    thanks

no, DivX is done entirely by the CPU, I believe. The compression routines for DivX and Mpeg2 are different.

DIVx is done entirely by the CPU although there are DIVx devoders coming out. You can get one of those for around $30 I think.
