    Have a feeling it'll be 50% faster, not 100%

If they can 100% speed up RT, that would be incredible.

Hopefully Greymon got this one right.

can't see why it wouldn't be 100% or even more

going from 5120 cores to 12288 cores

and the 7950 xt with 16,384 cores should be even higher

and they say the clock are or can get very high

oh well should knew in 2 weeks

but everyone should hope it does smoke the 4090 for half the price

Yeah assuming absolutely no change in core clocks and shader and RT you get 120% faster. But core clocks are routinely said to be over 3 ghz and theres certainly been changes to the shaders and David Wang also said much improved RT.

So my bet is ~110% faster raster as even with the huge increase in mem bw it might not scale perfectly and 2.5 to 3x RT over the 6950xt.

Price tho wont be cheap I put it at 1200$ for the 7900xt. Which is ok if it best the 4090 raster and matches it roughly at RT. The big question being does it have frame gen tech of its own, not that it can be used in every game but would be nice to see...

Half the price? You're dreaming if you think it'll be a $799 card.

We all know the core speeds don't scale 1:1, but we can hope. I suspect the card will struggle with power limits unless they open it up.

Hopefully AMD pulls one off here.

even at 1200 if it as fast as a 4090 raster or faster and maybe a little slower at RT

the jacket will sh*t a cinder block

chiplets are cheaper and have much better yields so they could cut NV's pricing by a lot or make a bigger profit

but i hope they keep the 1199 price for the 7950 XT and the 7900 XT is 899 to 999

Idk. I think NV has made plenty of $$ off the lack of competition already. Even if they drop the 4090 to $1199, there's nothing indicating NV wouldn't still make profit on each card.

I don't think $899 is out of the realm of reality, but I think $999 is more likely.

Drivers are apparently not up to par tho yet... one leaker mentioned they can only push 350w with the 420w part for now. But even at 350w its a monster. Maybe that last 70w is 5-10% extra perf.

AMD Announces Radeon RDNA 3 GPU Livestream Event for November 3rd
The event is set to kick off on November 3rd at 1pm PT (20:00 UTC), with undisclosed AMD executives presenting details.
                    https://www.anandtech.com/show/17620...r-november-3rd

                    ...........

We fully expect AMD's Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards based on the RDNA 3 technology to join the ranks of our best graphics cards for gaming, but the big question is when exactly this is set to happen. We gather from unofficial sources that AMD plans to reveal two RDNA 3-powered graphics boards this year and start their sales in the second half of December. Right now there is no clear schedule as to when the company plans to roll out midrange RDNA 3 GPUs.

In fact, AMD's high-end Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards can already be in the wild. Earlier this week South Korean National Radio Research Agency (RRA), which keeps track of all electronics that enters the country, registered a mysterious Radeon graphics card model D70401. All existing AMD Radeon RX 6000 and Radeon Pro W6000-series graphics cards use reference PCB models that start with D41, D51, or D63. Therefore, a model that starts with D70 might belong to AMD's next generation of graphics boards.

we will know in 2 weeks

but driver issues on the first MCM chiplet GPU i'm sure they will have some as NV will with hopper but they get to learn from AMD

they could also be cranking up clock speeds since the AIB's will use the same monster coolers of the 4000's on RDNA 3 they got the room for more watts

and with the death of SLI/CFX and the newer Strix like air cooled cards it's not needed as much as it was

last water cooled cards i had were my two Fury x's and two 980 poseidon's

No I mean the costs of aio water cooled versions not full loop stuff... sometimes have to go sideways into another brand but can get water cooled for maybe 100$ more than some air cooled versions. For ex saphirre toxic has both an air cooled an water cooled models... not that big of a price diff tween the 2. Right now its $1771 cad air vs $1850 cad shipped for the wc 6900xt at newegg

does swapping coolers void your warranty with NV on a FE ?

without EVGA now i would worry about that

i think XFX still allows it

Asus has had anti tamper stickers for a while now
As long as you put the stock cooler back on, I've never heard of a denied warranty. Per US law, I don't believe they can deny a warranty unless they can prove you damaged the card when you swapped the cooler.

I don't think water cooling is worth it for most people. Air coolers can handle a surprising amount of heat. My Sapphire Vega 64 Nitro+ cooled the card just fine even when I put the power limit up to +50% so the card was pulling something in excess of 400w (which did nothing for performance).

When I water cooled my 1080 Ti it ran at 40-45C. With reference cooler it was 70-80C. Asus Strix or Gigabyte Windforce the temp was more like 60-65C. The difference in temp resulted in maybe an extra 50-100 MHz (not nearly what I was hoping for). Water cooled was a little quieter, but overall I would not say it was worth the hassle.

These chips all have an efficiency sweet spot and pushing beyond it results in negligible performance gains (why Vega didn't gain anything with more power since it already was pushed too far even at stock), so there's not much reason to push the power/cooling limits to the max. Hardcore users will still do it, but for the average person you're not giving up much by not doing it.

my case is about 5 feet away and i can't hear my 3080 ti Strix at all

but can hear my ASRock OC Formula Radeon RX 6900 XT = not buying ASRock again
i would watercool the ASRock but i think it can wait on a 7950 Strix

Asrock also seems to have a really shady warranty, so that alone may be reason to avoid them.

Id just do it to save space not for some performance... I mean the 4 slot thing is just too much. Its also long. Itll fit but not sure I can keep the sound card lol.

Rumor: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT "RDNA 3" Graphics Card to Pack 20 GB of GDDR6 Memory

The Radeon RX 7900 XT will supposedly be able to go head-to-head with the GeForce RTX 4090 from NVIDIA as long as ray tracing is not a part of the equation.

The AMD RDNA 3 GPU lineup will kick off first with high-end offerings based on the Navi 31 MCM chip. The chip will be featured in enthusiast-class Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards including the RX 7900 XT which we have received new information about from our sources. As per the details, the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card won't be the top model but it will feature 20 GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

Our source reports that AMD's Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" GPUs may exceed expectations & while there are conflicting rumors (here and here), it looks like the end result might be a far better product than anticipated. We have also come to know that the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT originally featured 24 GB of memory capacity before being downgraded to 20 GB. The Full-Fat 24 GB & Top Navi 31 bin will be aimed at NVIDIA's full-Fat Ada die (the RTX 4090 Ti). AMD seems very confident that with 20 GB and a slightly cut-down MCM chip, they will sit in a comfortable position against the RTX 4090 and may even outperform it in pure rasterization performance while bringing a big jump in RT performance versus the existing RDNA 2 GPUs.

Rumor: AMD’s Fastest Radeon RX 7000 Laptop GPU Could Offer Desktop-Level Performance

If true, this would be an impressive feat by AMD.

In two separate tweets by Greymon55 and Kopite7kimi, both leakers have reported that the next-gen AMD Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" laptop GPUs will offer a huge boost to gaming performance on mobile platforms. First up, we have Greymon55's tweet which says that the Radeon RX 7000 "RDNA 3" Laptop GPUs (represented by the laptop emoji) would offer performance on par with Radeon RX 6950 XT, AMD's fastest RDNA 2 graphics card.

The second tweet from Kopite7kimi gives us a possible SKU name, the Radeon RX 7900M, which may or may not be the flagship RDNA 3 GPU considering the company is going to use the X950 XT branding for its top RDNA 3 desktop graphics card. Regardless, the Radeon RX 7900M is said to be delivering performance on par with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 which is huge. Currently, there's no single laptop GPU that comes close to the flagship desktop graphics cards.
