i think AMD wants to get the GPU's more even with the CPU's in sales

on the aftermarket cards Asus will be last to go done in pricing
Asus has been a total rip-off this gen, F them.

RDNA 3 Reportedly More Than Doubles the Core Count of the RX 6000 Series GPUs
According to Greymon55 — and correspondingly @Redfire75369 who interpreted Greymon's post — AMD's largest Navi 31 die will feature a whopping 12,288 streaming processors housed inside 48 WGPs (workgroup processors). RDNA 3's midrange Navi 32 die will receive 8192 SPs housed inside 32 WGPs. Last, the entry-level Navi 33 will get 4096 SPs in 16WGPs.

These numbers are substantially greater compared to RDNA 2, where the top Navi 21 die peaked at 5120 SPs, Navi 22 at 2560 SPs, and Navi 23 at 2048 SPs. It's possible AMD will do something similar to Nvidia's Ampere where the number of shaders per functional unit (WGP). Note that a single WGP in RDNA contains two Compute Units (CUs).

Bit lower than the insane 15000 they said earlier but still good increase over current gen. Now for some RT specs leaks. Tho seeing RT on Arkham mod wasnt that impressive. RT seems touch and go as to whether its visually worth it or not.

        8k must be nice tho.

This follow up bit is interesting:

A new list of AMD Navi 31, 32 and 33 GPU variants has been leaked by multiple sources and points to AMD reducing the specifications of the upcoming next-generation Radeon […]

So here's the thing. AMD's RDNA3 series is going to be a gamechanger and probably the first to market with an MCM design. We have been told to expect performance figures of up to 92 TFLOPS. Assuming a 3GHz clock rate, however, the Navi 31 flagship will put out roughly 73 TFLOPs of single-precision compute. If we assume that the 92 TFLOPs figure is correct then the card must be clocked at close to 3.74 GHz - which is absolutely batshit crazy for a GPU.
And if the 12000 shader figure is correct...

No way you're getting chips clocked that high on all quality of silicon. The amount of binning would be so heavy you'd have horrendous, absolutely terrible yields.

Im more partial that there is a halo product in the 15000 shader range myself. The leaks about that number went on for a long time but for yields they probably cut down the initial top model to 12000... They are probably keeping it in reserve in case nvidia pulls out another rabbit.

but my 6900 has a Boost Clock of 2475 MHz is 525 MHz more that big of thing for MCM chiplets ?

Why would MCM have an effect on clock-speed?

Exactly, if anything it would hamper high clock speeds.

Call me when we hit 3 nm, maybe then.

TSMC is really good tho the next intel cpu at TSMC is supposed to hit 6 Ghz.

I can see 3 ghz but 3.74ghz as speculated is hard to believe even with water cooling. I think the 15000 shader product is probably gonna be needed to hit that 93 Tflops that they talk about. But it may only come out a bit later as a halo product at a crazy banana pant price...

RT is nice and can get you killed

lots of times i turn it off to actually play a game
i mean do you really see it when you are focusing on staying alive

did it with my 2080 ti strix and now with my 6900 xt
and the 6900 xt is just a bit better than the 2080 ti in RT

but i do expect a big bump in RT for the 7900 xt and if so i may still turn it off

                                              ....

RT in 4k is very hard and will be for one or two more generations

RT in 8k is mission impossible for years

if the watts are right for both AMD should get the win

as i think both will be about the same in raster and RT some games one will win and some the other

i also think AMD will be cheaper in price

you can still almost hear the jacket muttering " i priced it at 699 and it's still selling for 1200+" and his teeth grinding

the 4080 FE will be well over 699

Just looking at everytime they got a node drop from vega64 which gets me max boost of 1.7ghz undervolted (a bit more than stock at usually 1546 mhz) to navi 1 at 1900z mhz to navi 2 at 2.6ghz...

Yea hitting 3.0 ghz on navi 3 should be doable and would be a good selling point.
