Before the 12 pro I had the Galaxy9+ which was 6.2" screen.
So the MAX is my biggest phone to date.

In all honesty I can't see myself going back to a smaller phone. I think I
mentioned earlier I haven't changed my phone handling habits with the MAX.
It's really not that much bigger and the weight increase plays no factor in
my use. I'm average size with average hands and it balances well for me one handed. I can also type one handed fine.
Alright, you sold me. Just ordered a 256gb pro max.

Anyone here have the Airpod Max or an equivalent they've used that pairs and works well within the Apple ecosystem? I'm not planning to upgrade my Airpods but my old Sony portable BT headset is starting to show its age.

iPhone 14 Plus production halted, Apple to reassess demand, iPhone 15 Plus still planned

The iPhone 14 Plus is priced $100 USD too high. Another $200 with/$170 without activation discount gets you a 14 Pro Max. The same goes for the 14 and 14 Pro as well.

Just arrived yesterday, and got everything migrated over. Its HEAVY. I'm sure I'll get used to it but wondering if the additional heft is worth it vs my 12 Pro. I don't prefer the "island" to the notch.

Could you return or exchange it if need be? If so, you could keep using it and see how you feel after a week or so.

Below is a list of phones and their respective weights. The entries in bold are the phones that you have owned.

                          iPhone 12 Pro – 189 g
                          iPhone 13 Pro – 204 g
                          iPhone 14 – 172 g
                          iPhone 14 Plus – 203 g
                          iPhone 14 Pro – 206 g
                          iPhone 14 Pro Max – 240 g
                          OnePlus 8 – 180 g

If you can’t get used to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, you could get the 14 Pro instead. It’s the same phone, only smaller and lighter.

Another option would be the 13 Pro from last year. You would lose out on the always-on display, the improved camera system of the 14 Pro phones, and the latest A16 Bionic SoC, but it would have a notch instead of a Dynamic Island.

If you like the really big screen of the 14 Pro Max, but want something lighter, a third option would be the 14 Plus. It has an aluminum frame instead of the stainless steel frame of the Pro phones, so it weighs much less even though the dimensions are very similar to the 14 Pro Max. It also has a notch like the 13 Pro’s and also uses the same A15 Bionic SoC (with 5 GPU cores) of that phone. The downside is that you would be missing Pro features such as the adaptive 120 Hz display, the always-on display, and the superior Pro camera system, which includes better cameras in general, a telephoto camera, and a macro mode for the ultra-wide camera.

Still feels ungainly, but I think I'll probably stick with it. If I do trade down, it would be to the 14 Pro. But I'm also considering just sticking with my 12 Pro for another year. I really don't like the "dynamic island" or whatever they're calling it. Very intrusive IMHO.

The 12 Pro is still a very good phone; however, if you could upgrade at minimal to no cost, I believe that you would be very happy with the 13 Pro. It has a faster SoC, better cameras, longer battery life, and a 120 Hz display with a narrower (but slightly taller) notch.

Yeah, its a free upgrade promo, though paid $100 for the step-up from Pro to Pro Maxx.

The 12 is fine. Just wanted to get in on a free upgrade while available, but sounds like I could do a 12 - 15 upgrade next year for the same. Though my crystal ball is a cheap model.

Take this with a grain of salt, since it’s very early on, but the word on the street is that the non-Pro iPhone 15 models will have the Dynamic Island.

Oh, I'm sure they will. It has some cool features too it, but its definitely more intrusive than a notch along the edge. To me anyway,.

Yep, different people are bothered by different things. Some can’t stand the sight of the notch, but to me it blends right into the background. Well, except for when I’m watching full-screen video, but even then it fades away after a bit.

I just wanted to let you know what the rumor was in case it factored into your buying decision.

Dynamic island is better than the notch. Its functional and has a use on top of hiding on the camera and sensors.

Being able to hide shortcut popups is enough to sell me on it. With live sports activities being pushed out soon it will be even more useful to me personally.

Mom wanted a Series 8 and said we're going to the Apple Store. They only had the 256GB model iphone14pro in gold or purple in stock so I picked up a purple one since it's the new color . Unfortunately my carrier doesn't support esim so will be switching carriers, bleh. Thanks to logical I got the dynamic island to follow my teams. Already turned off always on but can't turn off 5G until I get my number ported over.

Also got mom the belkin 3in1 charger, bleh expensive but our first magsafe charger. She's got a pretty thick case but it works, just more finicky than bare phone. Was strongly encouraged to spend $20 for the new brick instead of continuing to use the tiny 5W one that came with my iphone7. Fine.

Well my cheap carrier was giving me such a run around with porting my number I just told them to cancel the account and told T-Mo to make my temp number permanent. Most companies just sent an email warning me my profile got changed but one insisted sending a special code to the old number so I had to call them up and talk to a human. With always on and 5G turned off I can easily make 2 days on a charge, a huge change from my old iphone7's 10-12 hours before I gave it up. Lupine is right, after a few days this thing is way heavier than my iphone7 and my new phone case hasn't even arrived yet! Dynamic Island still won't light scores unless I go into the appletv app during a game.
