thx for the suggestion, but to be honest that thing got very "mixed" reviews, only 2GB RAM and a terrible screen resolution.

Have you considered a Surface Go?

I am still running my very aged Nexus 7 (which is almost unusably slow now), but I also don't see the point in getting another Android tablet.

Meanwhile the Surface Go runs real Windows + has touch support.

I had the S4 and loved it. I wound up going iPad, but that’s primarily for an app that isn’t available on Android. The S6 and S6 lite are nice.

Main reason I want the kids to have the Samsung is because they are use to it, they know the apps, they have all their school work, their Google meet stuff etc….easy for them to transition to another Samsung tablet than having to work out a different brand. Also easy for them to navigate it as it’s all visually the same.

It’d work fine for me but I don’t have the patience to do all this for their setup.

That aside i fell your pain, it's overly complicated to find a reliable source to compare different brands it seems.

On a sidenote: i'm not a fan of samsung (mobiles), but that's just a very personal preference, not based on specs. I'd lean towards the P11 (Pro), but that's just me.

The P11 seems to be under $400 here as opposed to $650 for the S6 lite (I get a $570 deal)

Just looking at the P11 specs it shits all over the S6 lite. Bigger screen, better camera, has camera flash and more yet they score about the same. Some other reviews see the S6 lite just ahead of the P11 and on Reddit S6 lite has more recommendations over the P11. Seems odd, I haven’t looked into the reviews though, just a glance as I’m at work.

The samsung S6 would be more around ~500/600 bucks. If you want to spend that much, then there are obviously others options in that price range too.

Yeah the tablets will be for school work and some gaming, nothing too fancy for these like Fortnite or anything like that as I know they don’t cope well.

I’m looking at a 128GB model. I’m not sure what the Lenovo specs are like, I think it’s specs are closer to the TAB A as it is a little cheaper than the lite.

there are a few other tablets in the price range of the S6 lite (~250/350 bucks) like the Lenovo P11or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. Depending on what your kids will use it for there are other options, of course. There's also the Fire HD 10 + ( a lot cheaper) if the tablet is mainly meant for entertainment.

    started a topic Tablet comparison

    Tablet comparison

I'm trying to make a decision on whether to upgrade my kids Samsung Tablet A 10.5 (2018) to a Samsung S6 Lite (2020)? but not finding any decent website that does comparisons. I found one site but it was spitting out incorrect information

Any one have a comparison site I can use or if a guru knows if the upgrade is OK?

I'm happy with a few upgrades from the Tab A to S6 and don't need to go over board as the kids wont even know the difference. The S pen would excite the kids and I know the storage capacity and RAM are higher but I'm not familiar with the CPU. Screen size is just smaller on the S6 but the resolution is higher. Kinda blows the S6 doesn't have camera flash.

The S6 appears to be an iPad competitor and considered to be the best budget tablet Samsung has released. Also, I'm able to save $80 on each S6 lite so that's another incentive.

    Thoughts?
